If Tkachuck only signs for 5.5, they'll be able to resign everyone and bring in a backup without shipping out anyone. Rittich isn't getting more than 2 million, Bennett won't be getting more than 3, Mangiapane won't be getting more than 1.5. That still leaves them with around 2 million to sign a backup. The market is flooded with potential backups so 2 million is more than enough.

Todd i have no doubt Frolik is going to be on the move. Where are you getting your numbers on what it would take to get the important RFA's signed, especially in the same breath as a 5.5 mill bridge with Tkachuk?

Is Cap Central on this site missing something? The roster & numbers seem correct to me & they say we have just under $17.0 mill avail. Is this wrong?

That would still leave 8.0 mill for Tkachuk without buying anyone out or trading anyone. Please clarify where your concerns are in available cap space?

They're not counting Andersson, Valimaki, Kylington, or Dube.

They have just under $13M if you include Gilles.

Ok, so if you sign the 3 forwards that gives you 12 forwards, Rittch & Talbot & assign Gilles to Stockton. Gilles may have a 1 way contract but his salary is low enough to not have an impact on the Cap, he just gets paid very well to play in Stockton.
So add the $775K for Andersen & you have 6 D signed. Honestly, I just dont see any issues.

I could see Benning doing it and then trading away Markstrom's rights after next season... that's his only real RFA/UFA concern (after Boeser this year) until Petterson is up for a new deal.

As much flack as he takes, they actually are in a pretty solid position for the next few years from a cap perspective, even with Eriksson there. Helps spending less than $5M on your goalies... ugh.
