With all the kids coming up, if you are not brining in a guy who fits the long-term plan for the team, then you are just pissing away a spot at a kid to get ice-time and develop. - Mashadar

You see, people are assuming that both Poehling and Suzuki are a lock to make the team. As if Claude Julien wasn't the coach of the Habs. |

Unless I saw wrong in their videos, Habs prospects at development camp are wearing t-shirts that read “EARNED, not entitled” on the backs of them. |

Wouldn't want them to take away ice time from Nate Thompson. |

Realistically. Suzuki? Maybe. Might benefit from one year in the AHL though. Caufield is going one year at Wisconsin guaranteed.
Ylonen, Ikonen and Olofsson staying in Europe. Poehling probably will win a spot. Evans? Is he better than Perry?

Don't want kids getting 4th line minutes anyway and the PP needs players who can score |

they kept an 18 year old on the roster last year and a 19 year old on the roster the year before that. not saying with will make the team or deserve to make the team. but this idea that Julien is opposed to making room for young players is obviously false. |

Suzuki will go to the AHL for at least half the year, Evans was not ready last year, we will see this year, Poehling is mature physically, he has a chance to stick around.
Habs will make space for them if they are ready but it is not impossible they all go to Laval for a few months |

Nah ... I'm telling you guys, we're bringing back Vinny Lecavalier to play on the 4th line.
It worked so well for him in Philly, we might want to repeat the experiment over here.. |

Evans probably needs at least another year in the AHL. After that he might be good enough for a 3rd-4thC spot. |

Caufield should wear #57 ... just to prove everybody wrong, especially to those teams who passed up on him. |

did we talk about the Mike Reilly contract? because i don't understand that one... a multi year deal at 1.5 million for a player the coach doesn't want. |

I guess they sense they might not get what they want on the market, he's a safety net...just a guess |

Right. But do you honestly think that they would want two inexperienced young centres (KK and Poehling) in the lineup? |

yes that's my fear as well... that he's mostly thrown in the towel on upgrading the defence. |
