The bottom pairing is going to be bargain bin, league minimum players no matter what.

Without Gardiner, Hainsey, Zaitsev and Dermott for the start of the year, they need two top-4 D. And there aren't any out there that they can afford or are even worth the money at this point.

That's why Maatta would have been a good pick-up.
