Maybe you get lucky and hes ready to play next year.

The fact that those four players all contributed right away is an outlier. It is circumstantial as well. We do not have the drafting history boston does, and we do not have the veteran laden roster with future HOFs

I don’t recollect many times in NHL history when trading a 26 year old player for futures ever led to the dealing team winning the trade within the first season. What if Tage turns out to be an important contributor for the club ? What if us drafting 7th OA this year puts us over the top when it really matters ? With or without ROR we don’t have a bottom 6, a strong defense, or vezina level goaltending.

7OA will not be a goalie and it is highly unlikely it will be a dman(which would further the likelyhood of being 3 years away)
