But a $6 million dollar bonus is a lot different than a dispute over $500,000, no matter your feelings on the new owners.

If I recall correctly, either you or 89 (perhaps even both) said that Botterill wanted to keep Kane. Did he want to keep O'Reilly?

Just thinking, if he argued for keeping O'Reilly, but made the trade under their orders that maybe they will start listening to their GM at some point.

I moved on the day he was traded. Most can't or refuse to, and aren't happy unless they're whining about something. You win some, you lose some.

We're in a bad spot right now. Every single organization goes through terrible stretches (*waits for someone to look through the history of 43 teams to prove me wrong). We'll get out of it. Look at the stretch the Bruins were in before they got Orr. It's on par with ours.

Good for O'Reilly. Good for the Blues fans and that city.

If Botterill is to be believed, he had discussions with St. Louis around the trade deadline for O'Reilly prior to the summer.

I still think this team benefits from it in the long run. St. Louis had the pieces in place and needed to add. That player was O'Reilly. He's been a player that Colorado and Buffalo tried to build around, and it failed miserably in both places. In St. Louis, he became a piece used to build around others. And it worked.
