Cracked rib.
Do you really care who won it? Does it really matter?

- Fakepartofme

According to him, it happened in the 2nd round. So he actually got better with the (frank)ed rib.

And no, I don't. I only commented that it made no sense because other guys obviously deserved it more, but "UG" wanted an argument.

That's revisionist history. Armstrong was listening to offers and was ready to toss the proverbial grenade when Binnington came along at the start of January and proceeded to go 15-1-1 over the next two months. Armstrong had to slide the pin back into the grenade.

Call it what you want but as it stands today they are cup winners and he certainly deserves credit

I believe there's an article where Armstrong states he was still considering being sellers until like days before the trade deadline.

At least Buffalo’s pick is now 31st.
- RickJames77

So a second round pick basically. Good job for the Blues and bad trade for Buffalo!

Also, how's the next day in Bean town? People changing their gear from Bruins to Red Sox?

last year he did the unreal and traded Statsny because even though they could have made the playoffs, he knew they wouldn't go far

Sorry, I'm not disputing that at all. He deserves credit. He assembled the team. He made good moves to acquire ROR, Schenn, and they've drafted well under him as well. They also seem to have a good patient development system in place.

I was more disputing the notion that he deserves credit for not blowing it up when it was well documented that he was about to blow it up and remained about to blow it up until the Blues just kept winning.

Settle down St Louis. It's not like you scored the 9th goal in a World Cup Soccer match.

“About to blow it up” but he didn’t he gave them a chance to get back in it and they went on a hell of a run and not to take anything away from them but since the west sucked during the regular season it was made easier for them to get back in the playoff chase

I read a funny one on the interwebs yesterday:

Boston's top line should be called the Ratatouille line.

A Frenchman, a rat and pasta.

Steen hasnt been a leaf for 10 seasons, i truly dont give a fack about him.
I know still cry about his trade, but it took 6 seasons after the trade for him to get to 60pts

- Fakepartofme

okay? It's still true that he was never going to win as a Leaf.

I'm not saying this with any bitterness if that's what you're picking up.

yeah, it's been 10 years. he was a good 2 way player as a Leaf, and I have no ill will for him at all. Good for him. 10 years ago, the Leafs were not in a good place, that much is true.

Bozak - he served us well in his time. I don't think he's a bad player, never have. I don't think he has a place on this current team either though. No hard feelings, I'm happy he won a cup. It's not like it was going to happen here with him playing 1C. or 2C for that matter.

It's a long standing tradition that Leaf fans bash guys until they're run out of town, then those players go on to be successful with other franchises. It's happened over and over, and will probably happen with Gardiner and Zaitsev too. Both of whom, I'd love to keep, I just don't see how it's possible.

But many here will tear them apart, and then watch them go on to be key players on other teams.....

I'm happy for Bozak.

He's a good 3rd line centre - it wasn't his fault he was cast in the 1st line centre role.

Tip your Leafs cap to Bozie and move on.
