so when will the flyers get good again? the richards years are a distant memory now

I don't know for sure. It takes time to draft and develop players. I would assume they take a step forward this season.

I will be disappointed if they do not make the playoffs and win a round. I assume they add Hayes (or a different legit #2-3c) and a winger in this scenario.

What if they choose Sunrise Florida over Philly? That hockey hotbed where not a single shuffleboard playing, farina eating, depends poopting, person gives a rat (frank) about hockey.

There are plenty of transplants in Florida that care about hockey. And another thing...oh that will have to wait. Time to change the depends.

Really? The Panthers attendance seems to contradict this.

Tampa sells out regularly. Sunrise it always depends on the opponent. If it’s an east coast or Midwest team they draw well because more than half of the crowd is rooting for the visitors. If is a western conference team nobody is there. You are right about Sunrise, interest in the home team is luke warm at best. But that’s true with all pro sports in Miami, they are front runners for good teams. There is just to many other things down here that compete for the entertainment time and money.

We're all excited about Ratcliffe after the season he just had, but realistically, where do you think he slots in at the NHL level? I don't necessarily mean this upcoming season, but say 2-3 yrs from now. 3C? Are his skating deficancies severe enough to force him to the wing in the NHL?

I can dig it if it includes songs from the following: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Korn.

Never mind. Cap Central on this site, and the Guelph Storm site have him listed at LW. I thought I saw him playing center during the Memorial Cup games that I saw.

Lindblom, Patty, TK
Farabee, Frost, Ratcliff

Hayes on the 4th line as I can see it.

How far in the future ?

Could you speculate as to how Dave Isaac got the Joel Quenneville thing so wrong? He seems to have insider connections and seemed pretty adamant that Q was basically a done deal to be Flyers head coach.

3 years? Can't see us having both JvR and Jake as young wingers join the club. I didn't try and mix up forwards just kept them with peers. Could easily have Frost or Patty centering G and/or Jake.

Not really bullish on him being a viable NHL player yet. He's one guy that probably needs a lot of refining at LHV.

Lot of the plays he scored on in juniors would have been snuffed out in the pros. Down the wing, wrister from distance kind of stuff. He does a lot of crossing over the middle with the puck, and that would get him murdered with how upright he skates.

He'd need to adapt to a more net-front role probably. Even then, he might have trouble digging pucks out of his feet, etc. His stick isn't the quickest. But that wingspan could be a big advantage in establishing position and keeping the puck out of reach.

I think Isaac as a source of "inside" Flyers info is very suspect.
