That would be a horrible trade for the devils.
Draft picks aside, Bratt has shown top 6 ability and Zacha is one of the best PK forwards in the league.
Kapanen is good and can get even better, but Holl is nothing but another Mueller/Carrick. So essentially thats a Kapanen for Zacha + Bratt. I would scream if Ray made that trade. Not a chance. |

God I want a RW badly!!!!
Vegas should have either March/Touch available, and Toronto likely can't afford Kapanen.
Kapanen + Holl + 2019 4th (STL) + 2020 4th for Zacha + Bratt +2019 2nd (ANA) + 2019 3rd (NJ)
I wouldn't trade Bratt alone for him. |

Bratt is a 20 year old who has played primarily on his off wing and has 68 points in 125 games. He is one of the last players I want to see moved in a trade. |

Agreed, hard pass on trading Bratt. |

That's surprisingly good production; especially considering how he struggled in the second half of his rookie year. He could be the next Niclas Bergsfors! |

If we get really lucky he may even hit Matthias Tedenby levels. |

I want to see how far Bratt can go. One of the best parts about Bratt is NJ still has one more year of him at 750k. If you get just his ppg this year (supposing he doesn't improve whatsoever) playing middle six minutes, it's still a huge bargain.
I think his ppg goes up this year based alone on the fact Hughes is coming into the line-up. |

Yes the Maple Leafs would win the trade, but Kapanen is really good. I don't want to trade Bratt either, but you have to give up quality for quality. Maybe instead of Holl it would need to be a better prospect and/or less draft picks we'd send back.
Now that I think about it, it may be about even value wise, but it's a lateral move at best. We need more players at Bratt's position not less. |

Pretty certain every response to your trade was a hard pass and somehow "now that you think about it, it may be about even"?
Seriously bad trade, who gives up Bratt in any situation? Just to get someone of commensurate potential? Throw in picks and Zacha and you are wildly headed down wrong path!

If you would calm down and actually read what I wrote, you would see that I said I thought it was about even in value (after the Devil's gave up less and/or Toronto gave more), but the move doesn't make sense. |

Tedenby was never very productive. Bergfors put up some respectable points. But I picked him because he illustrates how guys don’t always keep improving. Bratt might but who knows. |

I just don't get why we do that? Bratt had a better ppg than Kapanen on a worse team with less TOI, and is younger and then we're also giving up Zacha and better picks? Can't say I've watched a whole lot of Kapanen but I just don't see a reason to give up Bratt to get Kapanen. |

Bjergfors had his first respectable season at 23, Bratt at 19. Bratt ranked 84th in the league in points per minute this season, and that's counting all of the players having played 1-5 games and getting 3 points or whatever.
Bjergfors they had to stick with support - Bratt pretty much WAS the support. NJ's scoring depth thins out after Hall, Hischier, Palmieri, but Bratt's ppm was only matched by Hall. Technically at this point, he's our second best offensive forward.
Bjergfors they had to stick with Parise, Langenbrunner, and Elias to try to get him to produce, which is why he didn't last long in the NHL. Bratt's doing what he's doing playing with Zacha, Seney, et al. He's a catalyst like Hischier and Hall, and with Hughes joining the team, NJ just needs a possession guy and finisher to finish out that top six to be formidable. Trading Bratt will knock some talent off the roster.
If I was Toronto, I'd trade Kapanen for Bratt in a heartbeat, because you're getting arguably a better player for way less cap space. Kapanen is older and isn't putting up the same ppm (he finished ranked in the 180 range).
Bratt should be treated like he was drafted in the first round, because he sure as hell is playing like it. |

My responses are usually long winded, so this will be short. Hall can drive the play and create chances on his own. All he needs is a speedy winger to match him. Bratt is perfect. While I am not a fan of his 200' game, he can help offensively and should not be making more than 2.75M AAV on his next contract, keeping that line offensive, and affordable even with Halls potential pay-day. If Bratt wants top line $$$ he will be moved, because he is not quite there yet. |

To me the devils come before any player (even mcdavid) so i wouldnt make moves to cater to hall honestly..ray should do what's best for the team, even if it means only improving the defense (god I hope). If hall doesn't like it move him for a top 6 forward at least ,hopefully elite |

Idk. Bergfors put up more points for the Thrashers.... but your the point is still valid.
How great we can have a Bratt, Tedenby & Bergfors discussion....

I think on another team Josefson would have blossomed. He had a huge heart, compete level. If he was given the minutes and just focused on D he would have been our madden I think. |

I don't know, Buf fans told me Tage Thompson was going to be a 30 goal scorer and that they easily won the trade. |

I've seen the words "difficult personality" thrown around with him too. Not sure how you measure personality/60 though. |

I've noticed that "difficult personality" accusation usually comes about when you know you totally got railroaded in a trade and try to defend it. |
