Those past 22yrs are the same as this next year? Marner won’t get an OS he would sign. Others are prime candidates imo.

os compensation makes matching a no brainer every time. you have to grossly overpay like edmonton to get someone. even nashville kept weber and the haul would have been 4 first rounders (philly used those to get morin, sanheim, provorov, and rubtsov...)

Who cares. Belcher told me that’s not important and he is the smrtest person I know

Did I?

I might have said something like if you score more than you let in, you win the game.

It's hard to keep track of all the things I've told you, It's much easier to track the ones that you understood.

Talking Trouba here. Forcing the Jets to match guarantees he is traded if they wanna sign Laine & Connor. The point is an OS we can live with & Trouba would sign since no control if the Jets match. They cannot offer as much as we can & keep him. Already talking about if Myers can fit in the cap.

I’m eating 9 pieces of toast to protest both fasting and low carb. Think I’ll chase it with a growler of Beer.

Trouba fits the 2nd tier contract JB refers to whether he trues for him or not. Kapanen is 3rd tier contract that the Leafs would match easily. I think JB mentioned 2nd tier F but maybe learned from the Subban eff up & playing better poker now lol

the ONLY person i would even think about offering would be Kapanen, and that is strictly because the leafs are handcuffed so hard with their cap, that they could not afford to match at 4 million (right now anyway), and that would only cost a 2nd round pick.

Great, so the topic of fat is still relevant.

I think Brock is the next to fall victim to fat.

Trouba at 6/7m

42m divided by 5 is 8.4m for the extrapolated compensation of a 1st/3rd.

Or 5/7.5m

Would he sign that deal? I doubt it. Think he’s going to want Bo Horvat $. So, would you offer the leafs a 1st and a prospect, or another pick for his RFA rights?

Why not just negotiate the trade then? 2019 1st, 2020 3rd. Or maybe OJ and a 2020 1st?

pretty sure if winnipeg matched they cant trade trouba for a certain period of time and they can go over the cap to get laine and connor signed anyway

but even if they dont think they can afford him they would get more for him than a 1st and a 3rd in any trade
