Very true. It's clear Gary wants the SJ vs Boston final. Not that I give a sh!t about who wins the cup now would have been nice if it was STL but it would also be great to see San Jose Parade the cup around on Boston ice. Would be a fitting end for Bettman and Campbell's favorite club.

I really hope Benning lets Edler walk. Yes he’s our best dman but Hughes will pick up his offensive contributions and someone else can pick up his defensive minutes against the other teams number one units.

not necessarily a bad thing. i don't see OJ playing all 82 so having options to slide him into top 4 situations throughout the season won't be a bad thing. same for hughes.

while, the fragile vets won't see the full season, we shouldn't expect or want the rookies/young d to see all 82 games playing substantial minutes.

while there may be changes, the defence won't be much improved in the short term. however, you put up with the mistakes to build the d corps over time.

those expecting change AND improvement are going to be disappointed.

The sight lines were blocked and the refs didn't see it, so they didn't call it.
