Carol Schram: Canucks nominated for Fan Choice Awards + NHL Draft Ticket Info & Worlds The Vancouver Canucks are represented in two categories as the nominees are announced for the second edition of the NHL Fan Choice Awards. Also, ticket information has now been released for the NHL Draft in Vancouver in June and Canucks players continue to make their marks at the World Championship.

Thank you carol.

I wonder if Petey is still a little out of gas from his first NHL season. With his skill and the open ice I would think he could be putting up more points.

He did say he was a little burnt out at the end of the year and it was a last minute decision to play for Sweden

I thought he looked rested in the first game; has been moved down the lineup a bit since Wennberg arrived.

I forgot to mention - I saw yesterday that he was one of the only Swedes on the main roster to show up for an optional practice on Tuesday. Here he is, working on his shot:

Ty Carol

I think it’s been a long season for Petey & it’s showing. No worries here. Tbh i just cannot get interested in the Worlds.

I always have a hard time getting into them. After a long season and playoffs still happening and warmer weather etcetera I don't have time to watch that much hockey.

Thanks Carol, surprised Jasper didn’t get more consideration in the best dog category.

Haven’t checked the results myself, but I imagine Benn and Sequin are at the top of the bromance category.

From the last thread, I’d rather resign RFA Ben Hutton for one year than UFA Alex Edler for three.

@Vintsy

I read somewhere that the Canucks were only willing to offer Edler two years

Back to Hutton...

I read his contract was $2.4m with a $400k signing bonus. To qualify him is $2.4m not $2.8m. Even at that it’s too much but a 1yr show me might happen anyways. LHD are not a problem for us when he is 3rd deep.

So, what you're saying is that you would rather have Herpes than Gonorrhea?

Surely Edler understands this leading up to the e-draft. I wonder if it’s the money or a handshake for later on. I suspect he wants a NMC & that is the crux point.

I haven't watched any of the worlds, so I don't really have an opinion, though I don't think any of us are worried about him not putting up enough points.

Nice to see the level of commitment he has to practicing and getting better. We're slowly putting together a team of young talent with a good work ethic

If he wants expansion protection, that is all he will get from any team.

At least you can get rid of Gonorrhea. At least that is what I think you're getting at.

Do you think they will hold fast to that? I’d still rather fatty for one year over Eddie “face shot blocker” Edler for two...

I’m not that familiar with the details of either, but aren’t both those things for life?

I’d way rather have Edler for two than fat useless “cry baby” Hutton. How in the (frank) can you prefer Hutton? Edler was our best D last year! Also, if we sign Edler for two without trade protection he could return a first. Hutton gets you a 5th if the stars align
