theory is Columbus is only team that can give him 8 year deal, they sign him to 8 year deal and then trade to Rangers

Oilers are (frank)ed with him. There is almost no way to get rid of that contact unless they find a crap team and are willing to give up a 1st unprotected. Makes the Ladd contract look like a bargain

That’s what i was thinking. But Florida can’t give him 8 either, and cbj ain’t re-signing him. But if it did assure getting him at 8 years I’d have to do that.

I know you hate him and rightfully so..but I’d be ok if he stayed, but trading him wouldn’t be bad either obviously. I feel like he hasn’t played with enough talent here yet, and was hurt most of his first year if I recall. Maybe wait a half a year (til TDL) to see if they could boost his value some, because it can’t get any lower if you think about it.
