The cap is going up (or so they say) Give me the best players on the leafs from 1 to say 5 and the salaries are no where close to the list. I do think Marner is a great player I do think he should get Mark stone Money (9.5 million AVA) I just feel bad for Reilly (5 million AVA) he is the best defenceman they have and they need more like him if the leaf's ever want to get past Boston and Tampa.

Congrats to Peter Tessier who actually talks some sense. marner signing for close to what Matthews makes would make him the highest paid winger in the game. So unless he can somehow prove he is the best winger in the game. He will be paid like his peers.

as a sabres fan i would hate not seeing marner 4 times a year because i think hes THAT exciting to watch, however i would like it because maybe we would win 1 of the 4 games

No, they couldn't have.

The Leafs had to keep a bunch of CAP space this season because they had to make sure the bonus money that Matthews and Marner would earn went on this seasons CAP. And that also meant that Horton couldn't go on the LTIR.
