JD should have a clause that he gets to do 50% of the home games in the booth

Love how Brooks adds in the lack of state tax in Florida, which impacts the landscape. The Panthers are expected to pursue Panarin and Sergei Bobrovsky. While the betting odds are on the Rangers to sign Panarin, it’s not a foregone conclusion. The islanders have plenty of cap room and a major need for scoring. How the lack of one arena, until the Elmont project is started and completed, impacts their pursuit is unclear, though that uncertainty won’t help. New York has to go full-bore to sign him and hopefully the addition of JD helps that pursuit.

Seems like that's on track to start very soon

You guys still have to sell me on JD. I'll even drop my stance that I didn't want anyone that had any connection to this franchise.

The main argument was that he turned around both St Louis and Columbus, but while I'll give you that argument, were either team a serious contender in any of the years he presided? Off hand, I think his teams may have won a grand total of 1 playoff series.

Even if you ignore that, what is his stance on analytics? I've gone on record here saying that I'm not a fan of it being used as the main tool, but I feel it needs to be in the tool box. JD needs to be able to lead this team into the 2020s. If his methods are as old school as Sather's it's not an upgrade.

That's a net gain though. You're trading two eyes and getting three back.

I don’t see where Vesey, Pionk and Claesson fit any longer. No room really. Even Nam or Strome, one of them has to go imo. Kreider is the toughest call of the summer, especially if they get Panarin

You figure these 10 forwards are roster locks:

Panarin
Zib
Chytil
Kakko
Krav
Buch
Leimeux
Fast
Lias
Howden
