Same as yesterday. Pick 1. Time to modernize and add additional speed. 14:00 a game with that paltry production isn't cutting it.

Unpopular opinion, I see Gus as much worse than Larsson in terms of thing that need to change. With a couple decent wingers, Larsson, I think, could produce something whereas Gus, I don't think, would no matter the circumstances.

Larry is a keeper, Gus is a groaner. I'll keep the Swede for another year on the cheap.

Totally off topic but the Bills are not picking up Shaq Lawson's 5th year option. I think that is the last player drafted from the Whaley-Ryan era. Total roster overhaul in 3 years. I assume it will take Bott's 5 years to overhaul GMTM's mess.

Probably not Jack, but I wouldn't put it past Botteril to trade Reinhart. I personally would keep both of them. Obliviously Okposo as well cause of his contract and you can't cut players like the NFL. So not a complete overhaul, but definitely a majority.

So as it stands, until Skinner's situation is resolved, we have:

Olofsson/Sheary-Eichel-Reinhart
Olofsson/Sheary-Mitts-Thompson
Smith-Erod-Okposo
Sobotka-Larsson-Asplund (maybe)

Nylander maybe

God we suck

It's jarringly awful

That lineup should be exhibit 1 for "reasons to trade the late 1st"

My sweet lord Jesus,
That is a terrifying projected lineup. They'll have to put up a safety net in the arena to keep the fans from hurling themselves off the balcony.

Amazingly, you may be right.

Current AHL top Team:

Aleksi Saarela - Andrew Poturalski - Tomas Jurco
Janne Kuokannen - Martin Necas - Julien Gauthier
Morgan Geekie - Nicolas Roy - Stelio Mattheos
Clark Bishop - Patrick Brown - Nick Schilkey

Thinking about the bright side, we'll all be dead soon and the universe's heat death will swallow all memory of that lineup. That ought to cheer you up

I think Larry falls less than Girgs so we should keep him.

I don't think there's reason to think Malone is ready for full-time NHL 4th line action. There's absolutely no reason to think he's capable handling the toughest defensive minutes, nor is anyone else on the Sabre's roster. They have to fill that role to move on from Larsson.

If that's the lineup, you're right, bottom 5 finish.

But if we don't sign Skinner we'll have some coin to play with. I'd imagine a trade or two happens this summer as well.

If Botts isn't stupid he won't trust any coach to save his ass with that lineup.

I'd be on board with this if Malone could stay healthy.

Eh. It’s not as awful if some of these guys improve

I’m hopeful that coaching plays a big role.

There are some really positive numbers for Mittelstadt and if our coach wasn’t an idiot and played Reinhart and Skinner with him more he’d be looked at a lot more favorably.

Sign a guy like Donskoi who can play the Pominville role on Eichel’s line with Olofsson and have 23/37/53 as a second line and you have a solid top 6.

Go after a good 3rd line center like a Bonino or Copp and we’re not bad in the top 9

There's a less than zero percent chance they come back with the same 12 guys +/- skinner.

Maybe 1% if he convinces both Gardiner and Karlsson to sign, at which point it doesn't really matter who is up front, they're never touching the puck.
