Need a RHD not a LHD.

I have a feeling it is going to be Soderstrom unless someone else takes a D other than Byram.

Soderstrom was already a reach at 10 before he went out for the tournament with concussion issues. No thanks!!!

Babcock ran our practices when I was in junior to prep us for playoffs that was when he was coaching the Red Deer College Kings here.

He's a major Alpha...it literally is his way or no way. It doesn't wash with alot of todays youth.

Datsyuk, Zetterberg and a host of other Red Wings players told DET MNGT they would not be returning if Babcock re-signed in DET. Says something.

Thank you for this. Pretty much what I suspected

It doesn't matter what we think , I think Benning has interest in that guy. I want a D but he is not my target but I wouldn't complain. I do think they are targeting him though.

Rick Dhaliwal:
Canucks GM Jim Benning is watching Swedish defenseman Victor Soderstrom, Philip Broberg and Tobias Björnfot vs Latvia at the U-18 world championships this morning in Sweden. #10pickinNHLdraft
Apr 19/2019

I think there was a few other reports that he has gone to see both of them a couple times.

That doesn’t mean anything 🤷‍♂️ I’m sure he has seen Boldy a few times as well. And how the (frank) does Rick D know who he is watching specifically. Perhaps benning is watching guys that they are interested in at pick 40

it doesn't mean a thing. I am sure Brackett has scouted the whole lot of USHL and USNDP kids, Gradin has scouted these two swedish defenseman, and they have also scouted newhook/boldy/etc.

I am just reposting where Vantel probably saw that Benning was interested in those two.

A couple of reasons .

Time developing this prospect. I think it might take 3 years for this years selection to play it's first NHL game .

Despite the scouting reports on this blog I think he skates very well and creates offense. He will be pretty good. I think when he turns 20 -21 we will see a player that flew under the radar.

We need RHD

I think Canucks can find players easily in Free Agency that are forwards and are easier to trade for.

I think by the time we pick at 10 the forwards Hughes Kakko Zegras Turcotte Boldy Caulfield will be gone and I don't know how much of an appetite Jim has for the Canadian forwards.

The top 8 forwards will be gone by the time we pick.

Vantel has a better read on Benning than most of us, might as well prepare for the disappointment

Soderstrom is not playing today but the fact that he is looking at team Sweden over Team Canada doesn't leave me the feeling that he is too interested in Team C

If they draft Broberg, I’m pulling a minivan and banning myself from here for the entire off-season

He’s a guy I’d be OK taking 40th, not 10th

I want Beckman at 40 badly. I don't know if he even makes it out of the first round though. I just hope he drops like Jaret Anderson Dolan did.

I was sold on Rees but I doubt he’ll make it to 40 so I’m starting to look at some other prospects ranked in the 30-60 range

not sure, but it probably isn't too far-fetched to say he has some interest in those two players specifically if he is willing to fly to Sweden to watch them.
