Poehling - Domi - Shaw
Tatar - Danault - Gallagher
Drouin - KK - Armia
Byron - Thompson - Weal

extra Lek
did I forget someone?

Weise, Peca and Deslauriers but I'm hoping all of them will be as far away from Montreal as geographically possible...

Drouin Domi ???
Tatar Kotkaniemi Gallagher
Byron Poehling Shaw
Lehkonen Danault Armia

Weal & Evans

Need to add a scoring RW for the top line... that's how I see it, doesn't mean a whole lot

oh I agree, you can switch them around all you want.
but that group needs to be improved if they want to achieve anything. they need more talent and more size.
fact is, there's place for both Thompson and Weal, considering Evans will (and should) be in Laval. so should Weise, Peca and Deslauriers

Hope they'll trade some LW to get stronger elsewhere...

Most think Evans should be in Laval but I disagree, I think he deserves a shot, depending on camp of course, nobody is gonna give him anything... I think theres an outside chance that any of Lehkonen, Armia & Shaw could be moved, and a real long shot with Danault, I'll take a beating for that one! Theres too many F and not enough quality, signing Thompson just adds to that problem, especially if they plan on also resigning the better option in Weal

That's my whole argument Bash, theres no need for him, especially no rush to get it done in April...

I know we do... and that's why I'm questioning the Thompson signing, don't get me wrong, he did well and I'm sure Toronto would have offered him a contract, no need for him here

I don't think Danault is a 4th line player either. KK will most likely start on the third once again.

A top RW would be nice, but I'm too lazy to check who is out there this summer.

signing Thompson to center the 4th line, a good vet on a young team, is not a bad thing. but that doesn't fix the problem for the top9, where they need more talent & size.

They have plenty of vets and improving the top 9 pushes other players down which improves the whole roster... Thompson only adds to a log jam of bottom line players

Unfortunately I agree that Kotkaniemi will probably play the 3rd line C role again, he shouldn't but he will...

oh! and they will be able to flip Thompson for a pick at the trade dead line when they are too far behind. then Evans will have his chance.

Maybe, I don't expect them to be selling at the deadline though, but theres definitely no guarantees of that!

List of UFAS : https://www.spotrac.com/nhl/free-agents/

Gustav Nyquist rw

Wayne Simmonds rw

Not much. May as well play the kids and or move guys on the RW.

The need for a D is greater but in a perfect world, he adds both and using the trade route would be much better... stay clear of FA all together, unless Panarin or Karlsson want to sign here of course

I'd take any if not both Karlsson on my team. Anoter LW but I would not mind Skinner either.

Another option is to target an RFA and trade somebody to a team who may be close to the cap or not willing to spend.

I know I sound like a broken record but RFA Lindell would be my target on LD, and I'd be willing to pay plenty to make it happen....

As far as RW goes, long list of options for Bergevin to explore there
