Gonna be 10 days by the time they play again, it feels like two months - eichiefs9
I think the worse deal is having to play at Barclays. The environment made that Pens series a pleasure to watch. Watching a game at the funeral of Barclays is just brutal |

through no fault of their own, because it's a league decision, the Islanders just lost probably best home ice advantage in league
they haven't played at barclays in forever |

I went to a playoff game there when they played the Bolts in the 2nd round and I've been to plenty of playoff games at the Coliseum...it's really not that much of a difference.
The older sect of Isles fans that are just obsessed with the Coliseum won't admit that it's basically the same thing. Coliseum might get a slight bump on the decibel meter because of the lower ceiling and the fact that it's smaller overall, but it was just as wild at the Barclays. |

I guess I'd rather play them, but it's going to be a war no matter what. |

Really? I don't know if I would want to play an underdog who just beat the defending SC champs. |

I'm not saying the Isles will walk right over them, but even with Oshie out the Caps still have a lot of high-end weapons. No disrespect intended to the Canes (I don't want to feel the wrath of BINGO) but their best players are not on the level of Ovechkin, Backstrom, and Kuznetsov.
Neither is a "good" choice but you don't really ever get one of those in the playoffs |

True, you look at Tampa though and the fire power they had, hell even you guys against Pitt. On paper, both you and the BJ's probably should have lost.
I love how they put Svechnikov's injury as "upper body". I'm pretty sure everyone saw what happened |

You can't be sure that his ribs didn't break when Ovechkin decked him in the nose. Canes are banged up pretty good, between him, Ferland and Martinook. Outside of Boychuk, Isles are healthy and ready to go.
My biggest fear is that the layoff is going to bite them in the ass. Not that I don't think they'll be ready, but they went into the Allstar break red-hot and came out of it pretty lukewarm. Canes are beat up and would be tired, but if they win they'll be riding one hell of an emotional high right into the 2nd round. Whoever wins will be, frankly, and I'd much rather face that on home ice than in Washington's barn. |

Yeah. If anything I could see you guys being flat in game one for a period or 2. I tell you that Carolina arena was pretty crazy. They got a good fan base down there. |

Yeah it would be fun seeing every game be in a wild arena of playoff-starved fans.
I'd plunk down $20 that at some point in the series one of the fanbases would start the always-annoying "We can't hear you" chant. |

It’s kind of shame all the talk about the SJ game is the penalty call, when in reality, regardless of the horrific call, what the sharks did was something I never seen before. I’ve never seen a team rally the way they did and you literally knew once they got the first one, they’d get 3 more. Kudos to Vegas for even tying the game under the circumstances of being bombarded like that. That was probably the best hockey game I’ve ever watched, non ranger related. Really only 20 minutes of playing time, but holy hell that was exciting to watch. I can’t get over it |

Yeah anyone on Vegas that wants to whine should be complaining about them allowing 4 goals in 5 minutes as well. Womp womp the refs are always garbage. If they sacked up and don't let up 4 goals in 5 minutes and they'd probably have won. |

That and that Eakin goal was probably a high stick so they got a break there imo |

Yea that was weird. I think he was just arguing the penalty. I bet they have a review for majors now. It’s not as drastic, but somewhat comparable, as the Saints / Rams play |

They probably don't get the 4 goals if not for the major. But holy hell what a game. San Jose can't keep playing like that though. Eventually Burns and Karlsson are be fatigued |

Burns, Couture, Hertl, EK, Lebanc and Meir were all amazing. When you lose your captain like that, it’s sheer will and motivation that takes over. I bet they win the Cup now.
Jumbo was a big part btw (vocally), I know you’ll hate to hear that tho |
