Zib is better. Idk what to tell you. If you watched Nylander, you'd be like no I don't want him on the Rangers. And to be fair. Advanced metrics said Nylander was on of the Leafs best forward despite having 1 point last 5 games of this series. But you've convinced me. Let's get Nylander. - tomburton99
Somebody mark the calendar.
I couldn't agree with Tom more.
Nylander is a wussy on the ice, with an attitude that screams holdout, even in a non-contract year. Every time he had a chance to drive to the net in the last 3 games, he curled back to try the easier play. He flat out gave up on a puck that he could have reached 10 feet before anyone else in game 6. Last night he did the same thing.
Scores points, but I bet you if you checked the majority would come when the game is already decided. |

Forget Nylander. I'd go after Ehlers from WPG. His contract lasts forever until 2025 @$6m but he's 23 and before this year his numbers were great. Something has to give for the Jets. They can't sign Laine, Trouba, Connor, and others while keeping contracts like Little and Ehlers on the roster. Little's contract is impossible to move. |

In that case, I think Tom should do whatever it takes to make sure he lives to a ripe, old age! |

I'm still on the RNH bandwagon. If we are going to get a player through a trade, get a center. I only use Marner as an exception since he is just so astronomically good. |

Brayden Point - Slimtj100
That would be nice. But, I'd put Point in the same category as Ehlers - no way their teams part with them, no matter their cap situation.
Let's not forget about Fox!! |

Brayden Point - Slimtj100
Nope, but someone (hopefully the Islanders) with cap space would be smart to offer to take the last year of Callahan's deal @ $5.8M in return for a good young player coming with him at a minimal cost. Tampa gets $6M+ in breathing room to sign Point and whoever does that gets a damn fine young player and only has to deal with a year of a really expensive 13th forward.
I'd like to see the Isles get Callahan and Cirelli for something like an AHL defense prospect and a late-mid pick. |

We really don't do well with free agents that don't want to sign. I mean Hayes was good, but the rest have been average to below average. Most were free so not a big deal, but apparently no one wants to wait on Fox |

Rangers have dodged a lot of landmines over the years. Burying Redden before they changed the rules, not only getting someone to take Gomez but getting an all-star defenseman in return for him, and so on |

By comparable to other standards, Vesey was pretty good. As a whole, we've done really well compared to the rest of the league with free agents, whether they have been unsigned guys, or just undrafted (Zucc Talbot). It probably has halved the pain trading 4 straight years of 1sts should have been. |

No doubt the Rangers have, historically, done a solid job of adding talent despite trading away a lot of futures. Helped them stay competitive longer than they probably should've. |

Vesey I was expecting a bit more from. He has a great work ethic, but I never seen someone who hits so many posts or misses open nets. Dude could be like a 30 goal scorer if he had a bit better hands |

If you think about it, we really should have been what the Wings are now. They've been bad 3-4 years now and don't look particularly close. Out of the missed 4 first round years, somehow we netted Hayes, Vesey, Buch, 18 months of Keith Yandle, and Shesty. I didn't even include even some of our later picks in some of those years that could become something. Whenever people bag on our drafting and scouting department, this is why I say we are far from the best, but at some point you have to admit we are far from the worst. |
