Once massive positive is a lot of dead weight contracts fall off before we have to offer Dahlin his big contract.
If there was any way to dump Okslopokes salary (say cap floor team?) we would be styling

Okposo with $3m retained plus the Blues 2021 2nd round pick. Does that get some nibbles?

You aren't moving him without bringing back a bad contract.

okposo and the late first round pick for the yotes 7th round pick, which is technically a late 6th

I'd swap him for Loui Eriksson

even add a late pick if needed just for a change of scenery

We are probably stuck with him

But something to ponder...
Okposo was Buffalo’s 4TH best forward last year behind Jack, Sam & Skinner

Only had 2 less goals (& points) than Pommer, but basically got zero icetime with Jack
He had 5 less assists than Sheary (both had 14goals), but Okposo spent more time lower in the lineup- including a decent amount of time on Line4, which was used extremely heavily defensively

Not moving that late1st if it’s up to me

Okposo’s contract sucks,
but he’s not actually as bad as everyone is saying
He scored 14goals while playing mostly in the bottom6

moving forward I want to keep guys that can either skate
rack up points
or play with an edge that will help us in the playoffs

IMO okposo checks none of those boxes

I didn’t see the actual PP time they got,
but...

Okposo has 7pp goals
Sheary had 4pp goals

So i suppose it’s murky as to whether or not Okposo or Sheary was better

But i guess my overall point was that he isn’t as terrible as most are making him out to be
He’s a useful bottom6 player
But obviously that contract is horrendous

That's the kind of deal that could happen. Doubt it would work out well for either team, but at least it makes sense.

Every time someone wants to dump Okposo for a pick, just swap in Eriksson's name and ask if we'd take the deal.

Totally agree
I’m not saying he’s someone to build around

However,
that late 1st we’d have to give up to get rid of Okposo COULD BE a player who adds to our “core” for years to come

So since Okposo is an “ok” bottom6 player,
I’m not gonna give up a potential good player to dump him

Fair enough. Allow me to update:

Okposo with $3 retained plus the Blues 2021 2nd for Tanner Pearson

2 years left at $3.8

Who says no?

I would say Pominville 4, Sheary 5, Erod 6, Larsson 7, Okposo 8, Mitts 9 Girgs 10, Sobotka 11

He's dreadful. Unnecessary penalties, sub par skating, predictable moves. The reason he didn't play with Jack is because he can't

But at the end of the day,
he still ended up with numbers very similar to Pommer & Sheary
It’s arguable what order u put them in-
for sure

Just trying to point out that Okposo might look “dreadful”
But he’s actually not

No, he’s not fast
Yes, his contract sucks
But, he does produce for a bottom6 player

7 even strength goals and 11 even strength assists. He's Girgensons with PP time. Feckin Rodrigues outscored our $6m man. I repeat, he's dreadful

Canucks....I thought you were saying he was on the Blues, and I didn't care enough to look.

We have a bad team and cap space, what would it take you to add Louie Eriksson? 50% retain, a 2nd, and they take Sobotka? I'd never consider it.
