If you want to get even more conflicted on who the Hawks should take with the #3 pick - listen to this podcast where Pat Boyle and a couple other guys interview Craig Button and talk about what the Hawks might do.

Ovechkin put that kid to sleep early tonight Haha
Too bad John Scott isnt around to pummel Wilson. I would have loved to seen that... although I'm sure Wilson would want nothing to do with him |

Benn already got him back a bit. I’d love someone like Benn in the Hawks top 6.
Subban his usually dirty self. Hit comes he puts his stick up high. |

In short: Podkolzin good, Byram good, Zegras good, other guys good too. That is all. Carry on.

I just got my first look at Cale Makar making his NHL debut tonight ... oh my ... took the puck in the d-zone and skated past everyone and got a backhander on net. He can fly. Very impressive. Don't know how he is in the d-zone but mercy - first impression is very good.
That was after I turned off the DAL/NSH game where I watched Heiskanen playing very well. |
|
|
|
And now Makar scores his first NHL goal in the 1st period of his 1st game and, oh year, it's in the Stanley Cup playoffs. WOW! |

Nice Podcast! Good stuff on Bryam and Podkolzin. Hawks want players that live and breathe hockey, a competitor and Pod fits that mold. Incredible skill and hockey IQ. Stick handing compared to Datsyuk. - SoftServe
And has no interest in coming to North America.

If it's me and he can be as good as Heiskanen he'd be hard to pass up, but then again i believe championship teams are built from the blue line out. - BetweenTheDots
They're going to get a vg prospect at 3. Gotta have faith in Kelley and his staff. |

Do you go D with Byram at #3? Or Dach. Either works for me. |

Tough question.
Is he worthy of being the 3rd overall pick, or is he just the best D-man in a weak class?
Seems like most scouts don’t have him ranked as a top 3 talent, so I’m leery of taking him that high. |

Read an article a few weeks ago talking about Seguin thriving but Benn still not so much after the Stars CEO rips them in the media. Wonder if Benn asks for a trade this summer?
Agree would love a player like Benn in the top 6, specifically riding shotgun with Kane on the opposite wing. Alas, the Hawks cannot afford him with his AAV and term. |

What about a Gustafsson trade for a 1st rounder? Maybe add a prospect or draft pick of our own if needed to sweeten the pot?
And sorry, had to remove your gif file. I think one is enough per page! |

Cozens, Dach or Byram (yes Wiz, we know how you feel about him) would be fine with me. My strong preference would be Cozens. |

I'm still leaning towards Cozens assuming Kakko is taken at #2. Do like Byram a lot, though. |

I think Gus could be used to acquire a young player from a team in a cap crunch (ie Toronto or Vegas). They gets a high scoring d-man at a low cost while Chicago gets another piece in the rebuild. |

If Gustafsson isn't enough to garner a 1st, keep him. I am tired of the Hawks having to give away assets for various reasons. Time to turn the tables.

You spelled Turcotte wrong. Dach is dropping like a stone. Wouldn't be surprised to see him fall out of the top ten. |

Cozens is still my top choice, unless the Rangers pass on Kakko somehow. |
