The Jets proved one thing during the regular season and that was that they had too much talent to lose. The playoffs are a different beast where talented teams do get beat by teams with less talent.

I do believe that the Jets are far more talented than the Blues. I think that as long as coach Maurice wants to play a big heavy style, we are doomed. St. Louis seems to welcome that type of game.

Once Maurice wakes up and recognizes that he should actually be trying to out skate the Blues and beat them with skill, this series will be over and the Blues will be in the 2nd round.

In regards to Mo, I'm not sure I have ever in my life watched a coach put out his 4th line in a playoff game with 1:59 left & down by a goal. For all the Mo lovers out there, yes you are correct that i'm not an NHL coach, but how on Earth can anyone defend his thought process there?

I've watched a period or two of every single series so far. The only series that has come close to the intensity and tight checking of the Jets/Blues series was the Nashville/Dallas game. To say that that Jets would have lost to either of Calgary or Colorado is a mostly falsehood. Either Jets or Blue would have easily beaten the Avalanche in that game hands down. I can't say that about the Flames as they played a pretty good defensive game but if the Jets or Blues played them it would have been a one-goal game one way or another.

Leafs- Bruins. Neither team impressed me. Lightning collapsed. Preds got beaten as well . Only the Caps looked like they mean business. Vegas didn't look great and my personal assumption that SJ would physically manhandle them wasn't far off . Bottom line is based on the first games I think both the Jets and Blues would have beaten most of the other teams that night.

My bet is Roslovic sits and we see Linholm get the nod ....if Tanev comes back in the lineup. I hope Kulikov sits as well.

I like Maurice but I believe that his coaching style and philosophy is too ridged and the 2019 style of play has passed him by. He is unwilling or unable to adapt to circumstances that happen during a game or series. He stubbornly refuses to play his younger, faster and more talented players over his long time vets. His questionable line combinations that force players with no on ice connection to play together or constantly changing the lines from game to game or shift to shift that doesn't allow the players to develop any chemistry. A team like the Jets can only win games on talent alone for so long before they need a coach to help get them past rough patches and I don't see Maurices coaching being able to do this.

"the Jets best was not good enough"

I don't believe we saw the Jets best Wednesday ... they have more - I've seen it this year

I'm more on individual contribution than line combo's ... "DO YOUR JOB !"

To say tonight is critical is an obvious understatement

Pete your comments are funny and consistent. I don’t think you are honestly happy if the jets win or lose.

We've seen the best of the Jets this year about as many times as the supermoon has happened.

The most concerning thing about game 1 was that at the beginning it looked like St. Louis was nervous. Their passes were not crisp and they looked tenuous. As the game proceeded, St. Louis looked like they got stronger and more confident, while the Jets looked shaky and fragile, especially in the 3rd period.

Pretty simple summary. Goaltending was not good. No one else to blame. A little puck luck would be nice as well such as that deflected late shot from the point that caught the end of Binnington's pad. I think the Jets are the better team but Blues have a better goalie.

On another note. I can't remember who hit Ehlers with a stick across the face. Its a clear hit to the head. Where is the hearing?

Jets are a fragile team, and they’ve run into a Blues squad that’s not only riding a wave of momentum, but also appears to be flat-out more talented. This series is over

Any regrets about not anteing up for what it would have taken to get Mark Stone?

Teamed played well, good effort - they deserved a better outcome. Bucky was terrible, all 4 goals should have been stopped. He is consistently inconsistent and when he’s off you can tell early in the game and he can’t ever recover from it. Same crap as last year’s playoffs: great 1 game, crappy the next. It is so deflating for the players when they have to work their asses off to score & yet the opposition scores so easily. You could see 55 say ‘are you kidding me’ right after a goal. Helly was paid as a number 1, you can’t have that kind of performance in a playoff game. Mo should have pulled him after the 3rd goal even with Brossoit having not played for awhile.
