Complete miss by refs but in defense of them the NHL rules on review is awful... puck in netting in BOS-CBJ series that led to a goal is an easy call to overturn...but review not allowed...same as this missed call tonight...

I would drop the offside challenge to allow easy missed calls like this to be corrected...these missed cals are having a direct impact on game results

American sports all have AWFUL replay systems. They are over complicated and just downright stupid. On top of that, every change they make is reactive instead of proactive.

It took everyone at home .5 seconds to realize that it was a hand pass and that the goal shouldnt be allowed, why dont we have a ref upstairs or someone in toronto watching the game that is also able to call down and say no goal almost instantly? Instead we get these ridiculously long replay reviews, yet there are also a bunch arbitrary rules that say certain, seemingly random, plays cant be reviewed.

So we cant review that a puck goes out of play or someone makes an illegal pass, but we can stop the game and review a goal because 5 minutes ago someones toe was slightly offsides on the opposite side of the ice? How does anyone think that makes any sense?
