Peter Tessier: Do or die for Jets and they need help and to help themselves We all no something isn't right about the Jets, Mike McIntyre says it's off-ice too and they have one game to make a change before the playoffs.

I've said this before, but I think there are issues with the laziness, and lack of maturity from #29.

This whole season has been all about finding linemates for him. He can't keep up to the fast skaters and he won't work hard enough to play with the hard workers. He can't get the puck out of his own end, unless he flips it high and the opposing defence get the puck. He rarely wins a puck battle. He has trouble keeping the puck in the offensive zone, when he is on the left point. He generates very few scoring opportunities.

For those of us that have played hockey or any team sport - how would you feel about having a teammate like him ?

I'm glad I'm not alone on the Laine issue. Add in all the other issues such as his Fortnite obsession instead of maybe watching a few extra game tapes. Heck, even Prince Harry wants the game banned, calling it more addictive than drugs and alcohol.

Once again, at the very least, stick him on the second PP.....please!

I thought Trouba was an elite defensemen, this whole lack of Byfuglien and Morrissey situation highlights that Trouba is incapable of anchoring a blue line on his own. He is a solid 3 defenseman and nothing more.

Laine only scores when someone feeds him the puck. He’s not like Stamkos or Ovechkin, who not only score on one timers but also create situations where they are able to score. Laine is incapable of creating his own shot.

The great goal scorers will all probably say that you have to work hard to score.

Watching Leafs Habs and realizing that maybe the Jets miss Yole Armia? He’s a grit grinder with skill.

Cheap shot at McIntyre and Morrissey regarding jomo’s leadership and potential leadership. Pete if you know something current then say it. What went on - or maybe didn’t go on- in 2015 when jomo was an 18 yo kid is almost irrelevant. Behavior and attitudes needing teaching are the normal for that age. We expect maturity to come with age and experience, there is no public reason to indicate that morrisey lacks leadership potential. We go where the puck is going and not where it has been.

Ok. Wheeler made up for his 1st period blunder with a nice pass to 55....

Moose won again tonite. Berdin got the shutout, 1 zip against Stockton.

Looking ahead, should be interesting watching this young Russian goalie develop further in the Jets organization.

I have been banging the Trouba is massively overrated Drum for years.

He’s a Hainsey at best.

OK. So the home-ice advantage is ours. The real hockey starts with the whiteout on Wednesday. I'll compliment a Jet tonight that is not ever talked about.....Par Lindholm. He reminds me of Copp. Very defensively responsible. He was handed responsibility in the game in the late going as such. IMHO, he was an upgrade on Petan , so good on Chevy once again. I make that comment with the reservation that pretty much anybody was an upgrade on Petan) .

Let's all hope Morrissey is good to go by Wednesday. Peter , I truly don't care of you think he is a leader or not because it doesn't matter ...he's a damn good defenseman and he'll make a difference, maybe a big one.

I'd rate Trouba is an above average defenseman at best. He is in no way " elite" . With 31 teams in the NHL , I'd rate him as about 50 th in the league, and I might be generous with that assessment because even on the Jets he's no better than our third best defenseman. He's worth $6 MM a year and not much more.

Agree, this is the real season starting Wednesday with the whiteout. And yes, Lindolm looks good. Seasoned European vet, and have a look at his advance stats for his 4 games that he has played in the Peg. Yes, it is onky 4 games but the numbers are what you want to see.

If Tanev has a broken finger, as much as I hate to say it, I hope he just doesn't get injected back in the lineup right away on Wednesday. Its just never the same with an injury like that, you can't hold your stick properly, or get a shot off with force. Poor timing for Tanev but we have a replacement with Lindholm, and he can play PK.

I like Helle's game right now as well. Good on him to be elevating at the most important time of the new season.

“You can see how beneficial our building is to play in front of those fans, it’s one of the best home-ice advantages in the league,” said Jets left-winger Kyle Connor.

.....Here comes the whiteout !

The Jets would be smart to crash the net as much as possible in game one and really get under Binnington's skin.

Funny, what you said about Laine is also 100% true for 55

Pretty sure Maurice spent the whole year also switching linemates for wheeler and shief to get their horrific 200’ game going ( by the way, the finished the year as a bottom 5 line in the entire NHL. As a guy who played I’d be more upset about how 55&26’s wishes are clearly out above everyone else.

Exactly. They ran into a hot goalie last year in Fleury so they need to rattle his cage somehow and put a wrinkle into his mojo.

Lindholm is a much stronger defensive player than Tanev. Tanev will produce more in the O zone though, pick your poison. Tanev is not a player good enough to play less than 100%, don’t let him.

I am Ok with having Trouba on the blueline come Wednesday. I don't care what kind of contract he is going to sign or whether he will be here next year, I only care about Wednesday nite and having Trouba back there is our benefit. Might not be a true #1 but I will play him come Wednesday with no reservations.

If our top line is matched up against the Blues, forget about it, no way 55&26 win that matchup. Pomo should have TLC or little/Lowry/Perreault together to play against O’Reily/Schenn/tarasenko.
