Saros is ill, so it will be Rinne in net tonight. That doesn't bode well for the Preds, given Rinne's terrible record in Pittsburgh.
The Preds have screwed around enough and been so inconsistent that the only way they can win the division is to have WPG and STL both choke it away. I know it's mathematically possible, but it looks to be a NSH/STL first round match-up. I'd be shocked if the division came out any other way.
The Preds have 20% of their cap space going to two players who have played terrible this year (Turris & Subban). Hard to make much of a playoff push when your #2C and top pair D-man are both struggling.
Confidence level = very low! |

Wouldn't surprise me if it's a WPG/NSH first round matchup with STL winning the division.

Would you guys rather play the Blues or Jets in the first round? I know the Blues have executed really well against the Preds during the regular season, but we all know things can change drastically in the playoffs. It may mean nothing, but moneypuck.com has the Blues with the highest percentage to make it out of the West. Moneypuck's algorithm is pretty interesting and more sophisticated than many other's.

Blues are the hottest and most consistent team right now, and both of those mean something this time of year. I don't pay much mind to odds or percentages. There's five or six different teams that can make it out of the west this year, and none of them would surprise me. My personal preference would be for Winnipeg to choke the division away to the Preds and let the Jets and Blues murder each other in the first round. |

I think it's safe to say it won't be the Blackhawks
In all seriousness, the Blues and Jets both have been pretty dominant against the Preds this year. But I would think the Jets would be the biggest challenge. Even if you come out with a game 7 win, you would be pretty banged up with the way they play. |

Love that the Hocks were painfully average. Just good enough to miss the Playoffs but not bad enough to get a great pick
