True, but I don't think you get into it just to make money. Most are fans. And if I own the team, damn right I'm sitting in on trade deadline and draft meetings if I want. Doesn't mean I'm influencing them.

From your last blog, an owner may not be into it "just" to make money, but it's a part of it. I think it would be just about anybody's dream to invest in something that is almost guaranteed to get a good return, and be something that you are really interested in. I don't think you can exclude one from the other.

That said, I don't believe he is "influencing" either, not that much at least.

How have they been doing "the same thing over and over again", unless it's by firing people.

They've gone through 3 GMs, a director of hockey ops (who hired one of those failed GMs) and, what, 5 coaches in 8 years?

It would seem to me that if they keep Phil and Jason, that's not doing the same thing over and over. Their looking for the one thing they haven't given this franchise: continuity.

Weird I thought Jack had better control over his gag reflex than that.

The same amount of people between Jim Rutherford and Pittsburgh's ownership, and Todd MacLellan and Capitals ownership.

I'm not opposed to a President of Hockey Ops in principle, but I don't believe it's necessary either.

and your point is the sabres don't need it because most nhl teams get by without one?...can those teams lay claim to the worst record in the nhl over the last eight seasons?...what was Toronto like before shanahan?

6th best winning pct in league history says otherwise 😉

Every franchise goes through this. Look at the Bruins before Bobby Orr got there. They were atrocious, finishing dead last for at least 7 years in a row. They were atrocious his first year there, too. That's one example. It's a bad stretch. We'll get past it.

I heard that jack likes it. He asked to be choked.

He liked getting his pee pee slapped by the previous GM.

Botts told him no, so he had to settle.
