Last night was about as good as it's gonna get for the competition. The Devils, Sens, Kings and Wings all won. Whike Edmonton, Anaheim and Arizona also got a point each. Only two teams could (frank) that up, the Rangers and Leafs.

Because Marner is a wing, I don’t think he gets 12. It’ll never happen, but I’d love to see the Rangers negotiate a sign and trade to get him for 8 years. I’d probably give them Kreider, 2 firsts, and something else if those 2 1sts aren’t our top pick

Leafs have $71 mil for 14 players already signed for next year which leaves about $13-$14 mill depending on how high the cap goes to sign around 8-9 guys including marner. A guy like Kapanen could be offer sheeted for around $4 mill and would only cost a 2nd rounder

Next year leafs have stars signed and a bunch of Barney Ruble and Fred Flintstones filling out the roster. The year after when their young Defensemen are ready...look out. Look at games in hand for New York compared to Anaheim and several other teams. New York has a better chance of sliding down, meaning into the six to nine range in the lottery, because they have more games left to play.

I know I’m about the only one on this side, but I’m ok with it if it happens. Last night was a great game for what I want to realistically see. Guys that you hope have meaningful roles in the org all contributed to the win down all the way to of course Georgie. If we can continue playing well with the younger guys, it builds a great foundation.

Sather has been way better in the cap era than he gets credit for. We’ve missed the playoffs now 3 times in this era: the past 2 years and the other one where had we won a shootout we woulda made it. We also recently had a 4 year stretch where we could have legitimatly won the cup in any of those years. The leafs have a good foundation, but I’m not sure they’ve been serious contenders at any point in the cap era. Throwing shade at Sather seems like throwing stones in glass houses

I live in Toronto and all the media are saying the same thing that the Leafs can't keep everyone and at least one, two have to go. Marner, Kapanen and Johnsson are RFAs and Gardiner is a UFA. Yea no one likes Gardiner in Toronto but you still have to replace him. But yea everything will work out with the salary cap

Anyway the rangers are rebuilding and doing it the way it’s supposed to be done. It’s not going to happen over night. In regards to your cap situation I am sure it will get figured out.
