-I dont recall Nashville outplaying us in the first?
-yes Rinne let in a couple softies but also played great and kept that game from being 7 or 8 nothing.
-I have no idea why this team
Can’t play like that all the time.
Great game for jets last night |

TBH I missed half the first and saw a team lose a bit on the possession battle and with underlying numbers. Now that being said they did have more scoring chances that the Preds. |

Jack Roslovic's "development" under Paul Maurice: 13 minutes in the nhl stanley cup conference final against Vegas, to healthy scratch twice in a week for Matt Hendricks.
The stretch run is about winning not developing players. Roslovic had a lot of opportunities to show his stuff and grow his game. I love his skill set, but the production just hasn't been there. Maybe a few games in the press box will be a good thing for him. Hendricks is not the better player, but sometimes a step backward can lead to a big step forward. |

It’s nice to see either either the sharks or knights will be out after the first round. Both are formidable teams and it’s very good for the Jets that they will be playing each other. |

If the Jets play like this the rest of the season this team will be very hard to beat. There is no reason for them not to keep the foot on the pedal the rest of the season. Imagine when their 2 top d-men Buff and Morrissey come back. |

I think That disallowed goal was huge. Good on the Jets for coming on strong after that. Our superior forward strength definitely showed up.
Also, how are we not talking about the JETS NOT TAKING A PENALTY, NOT ONE! How many times has that happened this season?... |

You just proved my point!
He's had a year for development yet no production, and it's gotten so bad that he is now a healthy scratch.
Right now he is on the Petan trajectory. One year from now everybody on this board will say they have seen enough of him and his only defender will be Rexypoo. |

Roslovic is no doubt a future talent. Hendricks was inserted into the lineup for the heavy games where Roslovic would noth have fared so well. It did work as the Jets are 2-0 with Hendricks in the lineup.
The second line for the Jets was nothing short of outstanding. They all clicked right from the drop of the puck. Connor is becoming a superstar possibly a bit too quick for my liking but only because he will just cost us more cap. He's been great all year IMHO ,so I'm not sure why Rexy and Peter are always bashing him.
Were there a few negative last night? Not many, but if I had to nitpick it would be that despite Trouba making some nice defensive deflections, the puck seemed to be in our zone a lot when he was on the ice. He also remains just brutal at quarterbacking the PP. I could go deeper into why in another post.
You can't say the same for Myers or Niku , who were both excellent once again. Trouba needs Morrissey, it's becoming glaringly obvious. Therefore if Niku can pair with Morrissey next year then it makes a guy like Trouba very expendable at $7-8 MM per. The only other thought is that Perreault can't keep missing open nets on his salary. |

There is no evidence that Roslovic is anything more than a 4th line player in the Jets system.
Speaking of terrible, Little has 2 goals in 23 games, and he's currently playing on a "defensive line" with Lowry and Tanev that is rocking a "stellar" 38% corsi since they were put together. |

Aside from Connors slick performance, good on Copp and Hayes for scoring on Rinne on those sharp angle shots. Seems to me Rinne let some similar goals in last years playoffs, up tight against the post.
Both caught him when he wasn't prepared and the Jets were trying to exploit that aspect last nite with Rinne. |

Question for ya.
I think we can all agree when Buff got hurt the Chairot / Myers pair were horrible, both via eye test and anylitics. So now that Chairot and Niku are playing well why is it Chairot is getting the credit? Do people not realize the only answers are A. Niku deserves all the credit for Chairot recent play or B. Myers is not as good as some on here think, cough cough and he dragged Chairot down?
Just throwing this out there.

Roslovic is still very young and it’s not easy being asked to bounce back and forth between Center and wing, I am
Not worried about him at all. Just let him play!! Sitting him is not good!!!
Tanev is possibly the most over rated jet by jet fans. People see a high energy fast player who hits a lot and give him a ton of credit when his play is absolutely ineffective. |

For playoff success I’ll mention a few things no one is talking about.
- Shiefele was all world last playoffs and he has not yet duplicated that play in regular season. He’s been good but not as good as we saw him in last years playoffs. We need him to be like that
- all year it seems Perreault, Tanev, Lowry, Roslovic, little and Copp have taken turns disappearing for long stretches and then looking very good for long stretches but never all of them at the same time. It would be very nice if at least 4/6 can get going at the same time in the playoffs. Not 2/6. |

It would be nice to see Copp Lowry Tanev and leave them. Not sure why any combo of Perreault Little and whoever seems to be so hard to use.

If that is the argument you want to make about Myers, then ask yourself why is it Trouba has the worst corsi of all defensemen since Morrissey got hurt?
As for Roslovic he's only 2 years younger than Petan, which makes him a year and a half away from being traded for the next Lindholm |

I think when it comes to defensive pairs that certain guys just tend to gel together. Once that magic formula is found they can stay together for many years. Seabrook and Keith , Doughty and Muzzin ( no more) , Coffey and Lowe. It seems the magic formula is always one stay-at-home solid defenseman paired with an offensive weapon.
I think that it would be wrong to pair Niku with Buff because Niku also likes to roam in the O-zone. He works well with Chiarot because he is much more a stay at home Dman. Buff and Enstrom fit that role well until Enstrom's big decline. Myers has had a lot of partners but seems to work best with stay-at-home Kulikov. Morrissey is a great defensive defensman but likes to get involved in the rush but picks his spots. Niku will likely be the ultimate partner for Morrissey as I see him as a better fit than Buff. We shall likely know next year.

So you don’t have an to answer my question.....and would rather point your finger at Trouba? Got it.
Look, I mean no disrespect and I know it’s pretty split in here. To me Myers is not in Trouba’s League.
Roslovic will be miles ahead of where Petan is today in two years time. |

Just watched Carolina comeback and beat the Habs in OT. Back to back wins for Carolina. Then, they celebrated by doing a fishing in the dark type of never before seen type of celebration.
The fans seem to like it. I guess its a bit different but they seem to enjoy themselves. Last nite apparently it was a slam dunk celebration. |

Don't let opinion cloud your judgement. take a critical look at the numbers between Trouba and Myers for this year and tell where Trouba is dominating. |

Eventually Buf and Morrisey will be back but the team is limping through this period. I just hope that there is not a re-injury as the style of play for both is physical. After being out so long, Buf will be rusty.
Apparently Buf will be back first, who do you pair him with? Chairot again? Do you leave Trouba / Beaulieu as is and ease Buf back in a third pairing and pp time?
Also, happy that Pete and Rexy were not able to trade Connor despite their concentrated efforts.
Pete has proclaimed Laines breakthrough at passing and now is a two trick pony. All Paddy Cakes has to do now is add "compete" conistently to his game and he should round out as a three trick pony and a complete player. |

am I wrong but the last 5-10 games together this line played, were they not very good? that how I remember it ? not saying you cant try them again but I do remember their analytics taking a dip

what areas is trouba not better than myers? power play? ok, i'll give you that one and that's it. Trouba has more total points and significantly more points 5v5. trouba has better analytics across the board and if you want myers on the ice in the last minute of a game over trouba I'm not sure how we can move on?
