Todd, watched the whole game & really your point of the lack of discipline is way off the mark. Flames should have been given a few extra power plays toward the latter of that 3rd period, Backlund was mugged after his partial breakaway right in front of the damn ref!!! & Gaudreau was hooked when their net was empty, nothing. Just because refs cant call sh!t doesnt mean its a lack of discipline.

He will be a decent defenceman for sure, Flames scouting saw something there. I've heard less about his defensive game than his offensive game, but you've probably got a PP quarterback on your hands.

Might well be one of those win-win deals in the end depending on how the Ferland negotiations end up (and if the Canes hang onto Dougie)

The guy is 23 and spent the last three years playing in U SPORTS. (Maybe the worst name for any sports league anywhere?) The only notable names who've won the Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy are Randy Gregg and Jim Corsi, yes, that Corsi.


He's got career AHLer written all over him. Good for him, but doesn't really factor into the Flames' future.

Coyotes are the only teams that scare me in the first round. The first round is always wacky and the Flames aren't battle hardened. They've been pretty fragile mentally the last few years and the last thing they need is to be massive favourites and then have the Coyotes steal the first game or two.

I doubt Minnesota or Colorado even have the mojo to make the playoffs.
