It's gonna suck to see Petterson in the press box while Johnson plays top 4 minutes during the playoffs.

A real captain would do what's necessary and arrange for Johnson to be injured and/or kidnapped for the remainder of his contract.

Or grab a cop's ass.

@Boyd, I don't necessarily disagree with your point that DP is an NHL defenseman, and the stats bare that out. I certainly agree that he's better than JJ and Riikola (again not hard). I don't think I'd agree that he'd be in our maximized top 6 which I think would consist of Letang, Dumoulin, Maatta, Schultz, Pettersson, and this version of Gudbranson, but who knows.

The point that I disagree with is that he didn't work out here because he wasn't played. He got looked at here, certainly more than Sprong did. We could get into that if you like, but I doubt anyone wants to re-litigate the Derek Pouliot tenure here. When a first round draft pick starts looking like a best case scenario bottom pairing guy, a change of scenery is almost always required for both parties.

What are the odds Gudbranson goes after Svechnikov again tonight after the rookie put him through the boards in Vancouver a month or so ago?

Agreed. He got an extensive look here. He seemed to be regressing and it was clear he needed a change of scenery.

Really looking forward to seeing Letang again. I don't think enough has been made in the Pittsburgh media of how badly he was missed.

That's cus the Pittsburgh media has an agenda to pump of how not that bad our other defensemen are. They will forever beat that horse so long as Rutherford is our GM. In their defense this time around, though, I've been impressed with the way the blue line has held down the fort while he was gone. This was a much better job than 2017.

Oh yeah. Pittsburgh’s media is annoying as (frank). I don’t follow any of them anymore. Yohe is now garbage too when he was one of the better ones. Dave Molinari might be the only member of the media I can really withstand anymore and even he can be brutal sometimes. Like you said, they all slob on GMJRs knob like it’s corn on the cob, so it’s awful.

THats true (regarding top 6 if Maatta was bag and Guddy stays new Guddy.) I really want to know if this new Gudbranson is here to stay. It’s kind of mind boggling.

I actually had some awesome corn on the cob from this place called BarTaco.

Corn on the top left smothered in cheese was awesome.

Pouliot would have to play his offside to replace Gudbranson. Don't think any of Dumoulin, Maatta, or Pettersson really can.

I can't figure it out. Like with Schultz I got it; was still young and playing on a team that couldn't coach their way out of a paper bag. Gudbranson has been in the league for seven seasons with two different teams.

I can't figure it out. I'm not complaining, but I can't figure it out and of course I'm just waiting for the switch to flip. I just hope it was just a player who had something to prove, needed motivation and we're seeing who he really is as a player.

I wish he could rub off on JJ somehow.

That's Elote. Mexican street corn. It's pretty common here in Vegas, but I'm not a huge fan because it's slathered in mayo.

Like how JJ is playing much better and Schultz is struggling a bit to drive passion? Yeah, can't stand how they all support him.

Agree defense has played as well as can be expected without Letang.
