Maybe it wouldn't be a straight swap, but it's not working for EDM with the roster arranged the way it is. Not that Nuge is the problem, but gotta shake it up at some point and there's not a lot left on that roster that's got trade value...outside of the obvious two players that aren't going anywhere.

Pulock - Pelech have become an effective top 4 pairing. I wouldn't be making plans to break them up in the hopes that one of Wilde/Dobson, neither of whom has played at the professional level, might become effective in that role "in the near future."

Without question JS. The D and Goaltending under Trotz's D first structure has been a 180 turn around from years past and the d as a group has played dam well.

If this team can add some more offense in the next couple year and Lou has plenty assets and $$$ to deal with they will be a Cup contender in my books.

Yeah, if there was ever a good time to hit a lull it was when they did. Had they limped into the playoffs on a cold streak that would have been a disaster.

Not too thrilled that we could end up playing Pittsburgh in the first round though. That final game of the season against the Caps could be for first place.

Yeah I probably would've balked at the idea then. But now, it makes a lot of sense. Toews is doing a better job than him at under a cap hit of $700k and the rest of the guys are playing well. The best part is that he doesn't suck and he still has value. Most teams would kill to add a defenseman that can skate like him signed at $5.5M for three more years of his prime. Not having a NTC/NMC clause is huge. Too bad Ladd's NTC hasn't switch to a modified one yet. They could bundle the two of them to ARI to bring Grabner back
