Something else I noticed was that Boychuk's NMC changes to a modified NTC next year and beyond. While it's doubtful they'd trade him or anyone would want him at $6M...he won't have to be protected in the expansion draft this time around. - eichiefs9
Same is true for Ladd, yes? |

Price is still the best goalie in the NHL. |

As much as I wish someone would, no one is drafting Ladd. |

He’s definitely in the conversation JS |

Likely no, but it’s just as important that his presence does not block the Islanders from protecting a player that Seattle DOES want to draft. |

His NTC goes to a modified NTC for the 2020-21 season. He never had to be protected but, like 7 mentioned, the hope would be that the Isles could swing a deal with Seattle to take him or Boychuk. |

Gotta be on Lou’s radar. Not out of the question. Again it will cost you but stranger things have happened.
Also when is the current CBA expiring. The cap could go up and there can be different and team cap friendly buy outs. |

The Islanders would be doing, likely, the exact same thing they did the last go-around with the expansion draft. They'll fork over some asset in return for Seattle selecting Ladd or Boychuk. They'd essentially be buying cap space. |

Indeed it was. Though Shaw running around irked me. |

I'd love it, but that seems a little far-fetched.
I'd prefer Ladd over Boychuk, I still think there's value there, in a diminished role, and the difference in cap hit is small enough that it doesn't make much of a difference. Ladd has an extra year, too. |

I’m an optimistic Schwein. Nothing is too far fetched for me.
But yeah, moving Ladd takes priority I should think. |

Chippy little (frank)ers the lot of them.
Oh well, Lee will make them pay. Had 5 shots in the 1st period. |

I think in 2 years they will both be ready to bring behind the barn. |
