Doubt we are drafting a WR.

- CoHo_to_B-Lo

My opinion would be that it is clear there is not a clear cut all situations WR. There are a dozen in the league, and one could make the argument there are less Antonio Brown WRs than elite QBs. I'm not saying any of the receivers in this class can't reach that, but if you see a Michael Thomas, OBJ, AB, AJ Green, Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, or even Calvin Johnson.. Beane won't hesitate for a millisecond to draft him.

yikes. OBJ and Watkins were definitely better receiver prospects. Metcalf has bad hands.

Last I checked, receivers get castrated for dropping the ball.

- TheSabresTaco

Jones has been castrated??? That explains a lot actually

technically it was a 5th with a technical 7th coming back

funny how this is not a deep draft now, but when the trade was made, it was

- homiedclown

pft. The late rounds are the same regardless of strength.

Rounds 5-7, there's about 5-7 hits every year. So on average, 2 per round. There's about a 6% chance you find an NHLer. it's not nothing, but it's nothing.

2000 - 2013: Sabres NHLers to come out of rounds 5-9 (7 past 2005)

Paul Gaustad
Dennis Wideman
Nathan Paetsch
Patrick Kaleta
Nathan Gerbe
Alex Biega
Paul Byron
Linus Ullmark
Calvin Petersen

9/55 = 16%

The Sabres have almost tripled the odds of finding an NHLer over the average. Quality of NHLer is a different topic.

John Brown and Mitch Morse have both said the one of the reasons they decided on Buffalo is because of Josh Allen.

I really like the dudes showing up with wings at the airport.

Classy move to show these guys that we're waiting for them to be part of the solution.

That's Buffalo man. If you don't like the people and respect the fan bases, you have no clue what you're talking about.

Dont worry...in 12 months...when the Bills underperform again....those same people will be slamming the new guys as "overpaid bums."

Also true.

At least they aren't like monster contracts, but they will still go in the trash heap.

To be fair..most Jets fans are the same way. Its always a gamble when u build through free agency. People shouldnt be too surprised when the team craps out on a couple of guys.

But (frank) the Sabres. Makin me lose my appetite for hockey...

Former Bills’ QB JP Losman, now a 38-year-old offensive coach at Clemson, threw the ball to WRs/DBs so well at the school’s Pro Day today, that an NFL team actually asked him if he had any interest in coming back to the NFL, in which he last played a game in 2011. Losman declined

We have no cap problems and insignificant dead caps after at most 2 years. All of the signed and assumed starters are proven. Beane is great.

So becuase you have 4 #3 receivers you don’t need a #1 option ? Interesting. John Brown was never “the guy” whether in Arizona or Baltimore. Beasley is a productive slot option but played on a team touted as WR desperate until Cooper arrived. I think they are adequate options but it wouldn’t hurt to have a player that defendes actually stayed up all night scheming for. Unless Allen is going to go all Brady on the NFL and turn water into wine.
