It's divisional. So you have The Atlantic + wildcard; Metropolitan + wildcard.

So we have Tampa, Boston, Toronto + 2nd Wildcard (ie, Columbus - because Tampa has the best record they draw the lower wildcard), and the Metro has Washington, NYI, Carolina + 1st wildcard (ie, Pittsburgh).

After the first round, you stay in your assigned division: So the winners of Tampa/Columbus would play the winner of Toronto/Boston, and the same would occur in the Metro.

Toronto is damn close, but not quite there yet. Still though, a Leaf fan should be happy with the progress the team has made since the rebuild began. Things are moving steadily in the right direction.

The "Top 5" teams in the league is no debate : those teams are the same top 5 teams in the official NHL standings. That means Toronto is a Top 5 team. Period.

Now, what are the Top 5 teams that Tampa should worry about in the playoffs?

In no particular order : Nashville (only if Rinne is dialed in), Boston, Toronto, Washington and Winnipeg. And out of those, Boston and Nashville concern me the most.
