So... I'm trying my hardest NOT to see things through rose tinted fan goggles, and I'm REALLY trying hard to see this for what it is.

What I need is someone to explain how Eichel's hit on Soderberg was dirty or targeting his head. I mean this is literally what I'm seeing in the slow mo playback:

Eichel sees Soderberg coming in for the puck, Eichel is going in for the puck as well, and is attempting to block Soderberg from making a play. Soderberg is low, reaching forward, Eichel is parallel to Soderberg now.

I do see Eichel's right arm leave his stick and due to the angle of the camera in the slow mo shot, I cant see if Eichel's elbow connects with Soderbergs body, but I know the only part of Eichel Soderberg's head connects with is the back of his ribcage, about 6 inches from the 9 on the back of his jersey.

I cant tell where Eichel's arm hits because the only forward facing angles are too quick.

I'm not trying to defend him or be all angry fan or anything. I'm really not. In fact, I'm certain Eichel meant to make the hit count as a statement.

But Soderberg essentially skated headfirst into an oncoming player, the point of contact to Soderbergs head being Eichel's back.

Can someone please correct me on what I'm seeing wrong?

No. Some see head contact and scream 2 games. Still waiting for Zads hit on Eichel after the whistle earlier in the game to get a look from player safety....Zads being a repeat offender and all.

Fair on both counts to me. I watched each one 5 times-and twice each without the sound-in an effort to differentiate them. The Eichel hit is arguably worse because he appears to be measuring Soderberg for several strides and hits him "Up and through" and hot the least bit in the chest. What I am saying is that it took precision for Jack to lay the check. The Voracek hit was "Interference Plus," meaning Interference and you are responsible for where your body goes whether or not you are looking and whether or not the victim of the checking, bending, reaching, etc. More than 2 games is not right. Drake Caggiula of the Blackhawks hasn't seen any ice since being dropped illegally by Richard Rakell (who got 2 games) for a Boarding bad hit due to a nasty concussion. If anything, the NHL places too much reliance on whether or not the victim of the hit suffered injury-that should have NOTHING to do with policing the game and enforcing safety-related rules-arguably the most important.

How can flyers jump to 3rd. They have 7% chance of making playoffs and almost 0% to get to 3rd in the Metro. That would mean they would have to go 11-1-2 and at that rate in 82 games would be 141 point season. Which would break records and be better then Tampa.

Am i missing something? I see no reference to the Flyers finishing third.

It certainly would be a bold prediction Cotton.

Salty? Youre getting smoked by one of the teams that will be your demise, Im loving this! Better bring that same energy when youre sulking over another early exit bubs

Its working out great, Drouin career year where as Sergachev is barely cracking the top 6. Cernak came in and took his spot easily

Hows that Jake Muffin trade working out?

- Komisaurus Rex

1) Yesterday, Sergachev was on the first defensive unit with Hedman, and on the 2nd PP unit. That's not the definition of "barely cracking the top 6".

2) Drouin = scoreless in his last 12/13 games, at the most important time of the year. Also, this is not a career years since he's scoring at the exact same pace as 2016-2017. Bragging about this trade is moronic, either you're a TB or MTL fan. Drouin is 23 yo, Sergachev only 20. They're both young and talented.

3) You wish you could cheer for a team that adds Jake Muzzin right now.

4) Each and every time you post in here, you embarrass all MTL fans.

Really though Giroux gave Mantha a forearm to the back of the head first. So it is funny how the PHI fans keep bringing Mantha up.

Didn't your team have a 10 game win streak this season? Turns out you don't need to keep that pace for 82 games when it is a small sample size
