Not pretty but a much needed win. Still waiting for Geno and Phil to help. Sid can only carry the Pens so far. Sure would be nice to beat Blue Jackets both games and put Torts out of his misery.

Phil looked better last night. Shot the puck from everywhere. Malkin took a bad penalty, had a few good shifts, then took another penalty.

Hasn't played bad and his deficiencies have been masked by Pettersson and the forwards so far. Likely this will change over a larger sample size.

Besides almost scoring in the first game, he hasnt been that noticeable...which for a player of his style I believe is a good thing sometimes. His underlying metrics have been pretty good.

Would love to have rust right now...would be a huge asset to any line. Obviously worked well with sid and Jake, would be better than ZAR on the 2nd, and would bring a great speed element to the big guys on the third line. Hope for a speedy recovery

I’m not going to blame this season on injuries because they’re not the reason for the Penguins struggle, but I will say I don’t think we’ve really had a chance to see what this team truly looks like while healthy and a chance to gel.

Luongo blocked me during the Sochi Olympics. Was really drunk and tweeted profanity at him after they shelacked us. One of my bigger regrets in life. His tweets were a positive presence in the hellscape that is my feed.

I’m not going to blame this season on injuries because they’re not the reason for the Penguins struggle, but I will say I don’t think we’ve really had a chance to see what this team truly looks like while healthy and a chance to gel.

I attribute this to me starting to wear his jersey again the last two matches after having not done it for 1 and a half year.

I will give Gubrandson more of a chance. Really, I think it comes down to how much ice time he gets - the quality of his minutes is inversely related to the quantity. He had to play a lot more in Vancouver than he hopefully will have to play here and hopefully that means he will look better. He is not a top pairing defensemen and if he ever becomes one this team is in trouble.

Unfortunately JJ has looked bad regardless.
