Great job putting by Hynes putting the NHLers on the top two forward lines and the AHLer on the bottom two lines. Ditto with the defenseman. OMG what happened to us? We use to be a real team, with real players and winning streaks with quality coaching and great goaltending.....What is this? Who the (frank) are these guys? WHEN WILL THE PAIN STOP?

Sometime in these final games of the season, I would like to see Bastian play with Hischier and Bratt. Maybe he can be the power forward those guys need.

If Hall will play again this season I would like to see Zacha or McLeod get a crack with playing with Hall and Palmieri. I know Zacha got a chance last year at the beginning of the season and didn't make the most of it. Maybe it's different now.

Of course, if the Devils win the Hughes sweepstakes let him play between Hall and Palmieri. At that point, McLeod or Zacha needs to get traded for a defenseman.

If the Devils get the #2 and draft Kakko, let him ride shotgun with Nico and Hall. Palmieri can slot with Bratt and whoever ends up playing center.

Sad that Devils fans are already thinking about next season.

Despite the loss, which is bitter sweet when tanking but playing a rival. I did still have fun watching the game last night.

- Nico and Bratt have such silky mits. Those kids are fricken fun to watch. That last goal was a nice example of what Bratt can do. That pass to Rooney was a beaut! And Nico protects the puck, and picks pockets at an elite level. Its a different hockey almost. Watching them play SC Bern made it kind of make sense. So happy we have him.

- Speaking of Rooney, I like the kid, he reminds me of what Ryan Carter brought to the 4th line back in the day. He has played great on the PK. Zajac, Coleman, Greene, Rooney all are PK all stars. Say what you want about Boyle and Lovejoy, but they were good on the PK and Rooney filled a slot nice.

- Gabriel is a doucher. That hit on Patrick was totally irresponsible. I thought it was fitting Patrick ran him and felt it was deserved. I would much much much prefer that over someone taking a run at Nico or something stupid.

- The AHL boys are getting great experience, and ramping up whatever trade value there is here. Mcleod is so fast, if he can put his game together he could be a decent middle 6 forward someday.

- That game was great for the rivalry too. These teams are too buddy buddy anymore. I want to see some goddamned fingers getting bitten off when we play the Flyers or the Rags. Figuratively of course, but a little snarl was good to see. It was Dano approved.

I'm not okay with revenge hits but that hit Gabriel threw was garbage. Glad Patrick isn't injured and don't really care what happens to Gabriel.
