I really want us to get a player like Cal Cutterbuck or Matt Martin for next year. We don't need to bring fighting back, but hitting and getting under players skin energies both the crowd and players. So to have a Martin and Hartman on the team would go a long way to fixing the identity of the team. Sure we have Hagg and Gudas and Morin will be coming soon, however defenseman still have to think about positional play in addition to the hit and muck these other guys can provide. - youarewrong
I dont see any reason we cant do that with home growns. Tanner Laczynskii can do that and bring way more puck skills and 1/4th the cost. He wont fight like Martin but the game is soooo rapidly moving away from that it might nice to be equal to the curve for once instead of a mile behind it.

I'm gonna go with a solid no on Clutterbuck and an absolute no on Martin. I like guys like Hartman who can hit and actually have some skill. To me, there's no place on this team for a guy who can't do much more than hit and fight. Just my take. - jmatchett383
Clutterbuck seems to score fairly regularly against the Flyers
I’m not in favor of these two players coming here either but at least clusterfk has some skill |

Well 4 of those cities are close to the ocean. I just see Dallas as having a big draw for a Russian ( social life). Kings suck can’t see going there. Islanders over rated and lucky this year like devils last season. And sunrise is a a good close to hour from miami. And they aren’t a real cap team or that deep with high prospects. Philly really has what he’d want. I just have a strange feeling we’re getting him. Especially if taryn gets up on the d - SMS4016
Sunrise is only 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale though... which is a beach. I went to the draft in Sunrise... Man that area is beautiful. I remember driving and saying these are fantastic timeshare cottages... then I saw a school... and a shopping center and I was like... OMG this is a neighborhood. It was just beautiful and amazing. |

No thanks. Clutterbuck is signed for 3 more years at 3.5M cap hit and Martin for another year at 2.5M. Not the kind of players the Flyers should be going after. The Flyers need to add more skill and quickness and adding more young players to the lineup. |

Because they play their games in Philly, they are subject to the city tax. Where they live is not a factor, nor where they practice. This is why so many companies have fled the city limits. The tax is horrible and you get nothing for it, city services suck. - BiggE
NYC also has one of the worst and highest state/city taxes in the country I think even higher than Philadelphia. The one advantage NYC has though, is that it's basically the center of the universe and the real estate and destination of the financial institutions, advertising and universities is and will always be in NYC. A lot of the biggest companies tied to the Philadelphia market are in the medical, law, and pharmaceutical industries and a bunch of them have already pushed out to the burbs or even Delaware in some instances to sidestep those pesky city taxes. |

Laczynski needs to be in the pros. I watch a lot of Ohio state and college hockey in general and he’s at the point where playing there isn’t doing him any good imo. Physically he’s ready and he needs to come to the pros next year he’ll be 22 in June |

Also seems like Ratcliffe is destroying the OHL as far as goal scoring goes.
Anyone know much about Arthur Kaliyev? 2001 birthdate and has huge numbers. Is he a probable first rounder this year? |

Yes he’s putting up the goals. I don’t watch juniors nearly as much. I have questions about ratcliffes maturity. Couple weekends ago he was thrown out for cross checking to the face and is known for these types of shenanigans while from this past camp he doesn’t use his size nearly enough in his game. He’s very young and I’m sure he’s learning but his game seemingly needs much more maturation |
