Where do you think this puts Columbus compared to the other teams in the division?

I think it was also reported Duch would be in the lineup tonight.

Panarin I can see being traded but your star goalie? Tough position to fill.

OTT would LOVE the CBJ GM is he traded pnanrin and bo before/at the deadline, it would only guarantee OTT a pick between 4 and 15, and very little chance Duch stays if Panarin and Bob are gone.

From this blog I would say that Columbus should trade Bob if and only if they can get Howard. They way Howard has played this year, he would be an upgrade. I wouldn't trade Panarin unless it was to a team that really thought they could sign him and therefore would overpay. His value to the team making the playoffs and doing something in the playoffs is worth more than what most teams will probably pay for a Rental.

Honestly they can get Stone and Dzingel but as long as that goaltending , Korpi or Bob, remains suspect they won't win much .Defence also needs to smarten up

Don't know why Jarmo's going all-in. Possibility of meeting Tampa in rnd 1; still have to get past Pitt and/or Wash - which we can't beat in the playoffs. I don't think we've beaten Pitt in the last 8 games.
We had about the same crew last year and lost in the 1st rnd. Is adding Duchene going to get us past Wash + Pitt + Tampa NO.
Adding Duchene still gives us the odds to make the playoffs.

Our goal tending has a GAA above 3 - that won't work in the playoffs.

I think there's at least another big trade coming - Panarin. Jarmo is not the type of GM to go all-in with so much to lose - 3 UFAs + a 2019 1st rnd pick.
Trading Panarin gets back what was used for Duchene - and then some. In essence we'd be trading up; getting more in return for Panarin than we gave up for Duchene.

So we still go for the playoffs, but also still build for the future.

Have to wonder if getting Dutch was a move to be able to get Panarin to re-up with a top notch center. Get both to stay and play together as top line.

Let Bob go and upgrade in the offseason in net for next year?

And so far it has been an entertaining game watching Dutch with the Jackets tonight.

He can stick handle out of a phone booth. The down low on your power play will be amazing. He makes these great little touch passes in and a round the net and his speed is only a notch or two down from mcdavid. He is elite. But...he needs a good play maker around him or he tends to try and do it all himself.

Craig Anderson looked real good last night...and he’s proven in the playoffs. (just sayin)

Is keeping the Russians (and snagging Duchene) 'going-all-in'? Kek said in an in-game interview that he and the Jackets are now 'in it to win it'. He also said that there was no change in his strategy with Panarin and Bobrovsky. So, either his strategy was to keep them all along or he just hasn't seen the offer that he believes is worth moving either one of them.
In C-Bus there is backlash over giving up so much for Duchene.
On TSN it was viewed as though the Sens gave Duchene away because they didn't get near what they paid for him: Turris, Hammond, Bowers, 1st Round Pick and 3rd Round Pick. Difference with that trade was that Duchene had term on his contract, this time he is a rental.
Definition of a good trade: neither side got everything they wanted but both sides were satisfied with what they got.

My feeling is that "all in" is not realistic - even with Duchene. There's still not the depth, or consistently solid goaltending with the Jackets to get out of the East Conf. Tampa has kicked our butt for the last 2 years - and we haven't beaten Pitt in the last 8 games.

Jarmo has to continue to make that statement - or he loses leverage in upcoming
trades.
As I said previously, it would jeopardize the future of the franchise to lose
all 3 UFAs + 2019 1st, and only get 1 or 2 rnds in the playoffs - which is a very good possibility.

Nah, The Metro is there to be had - Caps, Pens are weak and the Isles aren't for real

But if you're gonna load up, don't go halfway - you will need to beat the Leafs or Lightning to get to the Cup finals
