Very interesting!

Sens have decided to scout tonights game.

Wonder which player they are scouting?

- spatso

THREE from Peg on that list. One to focus on each of Duchene, Stone, and Dzingel. Lol

I know this is a hard day for many fans.

But we still have a way to go until we hit bottom. Probably draft day will be the low point.

I hope there is a consensus on what needs to happen going forward.

Does anybody believe that anything can change unless we have a change in ownership?.

- spatso

I thought Alfredsson leaving was one of the worst days

Then Spezza trade was bad

Karlsson trade: Rock freakin Bottom

Duchene/Stone: at this point can't get much worse

In terms of ownership: So far the answer is an obvious NO.

They don't wanna spend to be competitive, they don't wanna spend to keep their players, and they lack proper direction with everything.

My money is on Tampa getting Duchene, Stone or both.

as long as melnyk owns the team, there is nowhere to go but down.

the next to leave will be Chabot and white, then tkachuk.

you can bet your ass that ceci and boro will be here for life though....

with your negative 11 mil in cap space?

you know that the sens won't take money back, and there is no chance the bolts can clear enough room by monday

The only thing interesting about that list is how a pair of human punching bags like Dennis Bonvie and Basil McRae got to be scouts. Perhaps they're in town to assess Borowiecki and Harpur.

Would love to know the truth right now, is it.
- deals are pretty much in place but Dorian holding out hoping to drive up price a bit?
- teams staying in touch but not yet bending to high asking price?

Should be over soon, can see Dzingel waiting till Monday but stone and Duchene should be done by Sunday.

I don't think you understand how the cap works. They have almost 8 million in deadline cap space. Trading for both would require trading minimal salary.

why would ottawa trade them within the division, to a team that not only won't, but can't re-sign them.

that basically minimizes the return value

i can't imagine tampa is remotely in the mix

Wouldn't the fact that Tampa can't resign negate the fact that theyre in the same division.

actually, that might be a good point.

either way, i feel like the return is minimized if you move them to a team that is unable to re-sign them. teams will pay more if they think they can get an extension done

I know owners own the team and thus have control over everything, but the NHL should step in when something this extreme takes place. These dumbass moves are alienating the fan base. At this rate, Ceci will be captain next season!

I wonder if all those scouts are going to stay for the whole game since non of the Sens rentals are playing.

I have thought from the beginning of the craziness that the best fit for Duchene is with the Islanders, My dark horse contender is St. Louis.

I thought Winnipeg had the best shot at Stone. But I heard a couple of interviews on Serius today saying watch out for the Bruins. Stone would certainly fit well with Boston.

There's claims that teams are getting impatient with the lack of progress, and may look elsewhere for lesser, but more available assets.
So sounds like sens hesitation could be harming the deal

That's exactly what this fanbase needs: not being able to close the deal on any of the three while we can get something for them, then getting Tavares'ed this summer. Times three.

I wasn't aware the NHL had a trophy for worst managed team ever. Or does Melnyk know something we don't?

3-0 around the mid point... New Jersey sucks. Chicago had 5 before the first period was over. AND we were actually playing our three best players. 😭😭

See how quickly improvement comes in a rebuild.

I believe nothing changes until there is a change in ownership.

Watching this game without the big 3 scorers... doesn't even look like a competitive minor league team... Gunna be a long end to the season...

At least at the end of the day, our first round pick is with Colorado which means at worst they get Jack Hughes and at worst they steal 4 point from us every season until we are good again...

Coulda been like Toronto that gave Seguin to a division rival. (Not that that really meant anything for Boston though)

I think the sense are trying to sell high but other teams know there desperate. I think all 3 are traded this weekend toward the end. There going to get low balled hard
Duchenne to isles
Stone to Winnipeg or Calgary
Ceci to a sleeper team
But I'm always wrong and they will prob be traded in 5 minutes

TSN really needs to stop airing this goodfoods commercial with Matt Duchene. I almost cry every time they play it. They better scrap that the second he's traded.

Sens rest 60+ goals in their top three scorers and get shut out. Yup. All's normal in Ottawa. Status quo.

Edit: 41% of Ottawa's goals TSN just said.
