In a game where everyone was terrible, you Pom poms single out Laine. Makes sense.
- Rexypoo

Maybe it's not a coincidence that the careers of just about every Jet you champion suddenly goes down the toilet. The list is long, Petan, Dano, Postma, Trouba ( way worse than last year) , Perreault ( stinks on thrid line) , Enstrom. Now its Laine.

I think you would help out the kid's career if you would just start bashing him instead of calling him a generational player.

No kidding. Talk about corsi, for 5 years Lttle is positve corsi until he gets saddled with Laine asa linemate. Now he has double duty more work to do to make up for Laine defensive non existence.

I worked for a company that had a few sales reps that did not come close to pulling their weight. Rather than deal with the sub-par sales reps, management pressured the rest of us to get our sales figures up, so that the company sales figures would reach budget.
Needless to say, morale was not all that good with the sales department.

Sound like a team we know ?

Ya, let's blame the 20-year old for the entire teams character, effort & overall compete level. If a 20-year old has that much influence over the performance of your entire roster then the problems are bigger than anyone has realized.

The soft play from the veterans, especially the number 1 line is what is killing this team right now & its the exact reason they lost to Vegas. Scheifele is a hell of a hockey player, but he is soft & plays the perimeter. This team is far too dependant on the 'clean' goal to go in, now teams have caught on & realize that if they clog the area in front of the goalie we can't score - this is what Vegas did & what Minny has been doing to us. We need a net-front presence to score a dirty goal when we are struggling & that is non-existent on our top 2 lines. Scheifele is a number 1 centre & has yet to score a goal via deflection this year or been the screen in front allowing a point shot to go in. He is ALWAYS beside the net. The same issue is killing our power-play, maybe Laine would have more goals if he wasn't expected to beat the goalie clean every time he shoots, where is the screen? Where is the deflection? Most importantly, where is the coach & why isn't he making adjustments?

-Petan has shown steady improvement year over year, and is the next Lievo/Marchessault waiting to happen
-Dano is playing on the Moose’ top line. Step down though, so fair enough
-Postma is making money playing top minutes in the K
-Trouba is still excellent, your eye test is just bad
-Perreault is basically feeding passes into a black hole, but still driving the play like a maniac
-Enstrom was alienated by the coach, and chose to leave
-Laine is being alienated by the coach

Try again, love

He’s playing on the top line, and scoring at a solid rate for a not-solid team. At least take the time to use google even once before running your mouth

8 goals in 30 games in the AHL, you had him top 6 in the NHL this time last year.

I’ll try to use google more lol

Acutally, government agencies work on this principle as well. It is sheltering one by the inability of or reluctance of mgmt to act. In this case, the mgmt needs to put one player in the press box for a few games where he can see it from above and take another player patiently (Petan) waitng in the press box, blend the f-------g lines and have a go.

See, I am not giving PoMo a flyer on this, he needs to act but obviously they are afraid of hurting somones feelings and you potnetially have an Edmonton situation. PoMo needs to change it up but there is some tough love that needs to be delivered.

Khadri had a come to Jesus meeting with Shanahan at one point and he changed. Time that happens here and boo hoo if your feelings are hurt. Waaa.........

17 points.
And I never had him in my top 6, seeing as I never present my lines with the outdated top 6/bottom 6 format. Presenting wrong information won’t help you here, bud

Don't try to run from your words Mr Trump. and the original quote was for top 6 in the NHL, he may have been being embellishing your past comments but Rexypoo quotes such as 'literally elite' come to mind.

I like this! Well done
I’ve also said 55 escapes a lot of negativity in here when a lot of times it’s warranted. He had a great view of a few goals last night while doing nothing.

Does anybody believe there is any chance Maurice gets fired at the end of the year?

I figure the Jets could play like garbage the rest of the year lose home ice (finish 3rd in the division), and get beat in the first round and he's still coming back.

If thats how it goes down the stretch it will come down to what Buff, Wheeler, Scheif and Little tell Chevy in any exit meetings. If PoMo is their guy then he will stay. If they tell him there is a problem we could see a change.

Let’s get whacky?

Duschene (8 year at $8.5)
Stone
dzeingel

For

Laine (team control contract)
Vaisalainen
Petan
2019 1st round pick

Trade for the whole line!!

Third line become Ehlers-Little-Roslovic

4th line: Tanev, Lowry, Copp, Perrault, Lemieux

- jjonah

Thank god, get Laine TF out of winnipeg. Wicked goal scorer but I can't stand the guy right now, hate to say it

Watching him play lately, these are my observations.
1) frustrated
2) trying to make big moves into the offensive zone, only to get stripped of the puck.
3) lazy on the boards in the offensive, neutral, defensive zone.
4) is not using his body
5) pouting when he misses an attempt on goal.

I say SEND HIM DOWN

I just cringe when the word generational gets used.

Mcdavid has skill, vision, shot, all at warp speed and does it shift after shift, night after night on a sh!tty team. (Apologies to Oilerville but just stating the obvious) He is also a very young leader and was tossed in over his head at a very, very young age. Wasn't really fair to him to expect all this from a kid so young imop, but here he is, slugging it out on a crappy team, night after nite.

I can agree that McDavid is a generational player. There is a benchmark to compare a genrational player to.

Dano is likely an effective 3rd liner at the NHL level. He had top 6 potential, and played up to it elsewhere, but the Jets have totally d*cked his development.

I have not, however, claimed Dano to be elite in any facet of the game, nor do I run from any comments or claims

First time comment here.

I have followed this blog for about 5 years. In those 5 years I can probably count on one hand how many times you have posted the night of a win by the jets.
To say that last nights posts was negative is an understatement. If one were to look at all of the posts this year and have no clue on the standings you would think that the jets were in the running for the Hughes lottery.
Where was the post when the jets beat Vegas at home and Nashville in Nashville in the third week of January?
This team is younger than last year. Some of the players are hearing their names in trade rumours for the first time in their career and they aren’t reacting really well to it.
Yes the coaching staff could do more but when have they ever been praised by you!
I read other blogs and at least they are positive about their team once in a while which is more that I can say about this blog.
The Winnipeg Jets season will be ultimately judged in the playoffs. But by your comments , and many here, this team will not make it out of the first round.
As a true Jets fan, I know there are issues with this team but, I would hope that they at least get some credit when credit is due and not be blasted every game for what they could have done better.

Go Jets Go!
