The Sens get upwards of $40m from TSN for their regional broadcast rights. My guess is TSN is bringing huge pressure on the Sens not to announce a deal until prime time of trade deadline day.

Still think the Islanders are the team that everyone needs to watch.

Do wonder, if the Sens were willing to take back the Turris contract, how much added value would Nashville put into an offer? But, we know Melnyk is not going to take back any $6m contract.

I think the Sens are fortunate. Most didn't expect Matt to produce at over a ppg . At least the return should be decent and possibly a blessing in disguise long term. Send all three on their merry way and restock the draft cupboard.

Duchenne's play definitely upped the return Sens will get and justified the original trade. Losing him was unforseen.

Hoffman and his wife f'd up the program. Then trading Hoffman for nothing basically was a total waste. That's the move that makes no sense. Should have traded Karlsson if you didn't have what it takes to resign him and kept Hoffman....

If a deal was done, wouldn't the team that traded for Duchene want as many games from him as possible?

not enough.......Dal Colle has all the makings of a colossal bust, Aho is probably a 4-5 dman at best, and your 1st is likely to be in the high 20's. Duchene is, BY FAR, the best centre available, and a lot of teams want him.

if one of Dobson or Wahlstrom aren't involved, I can't see any way he goes to NYI

the rumour is that tolvanen is one of the key pieces that Nashville is offering, and he's ranked as one of the top prospects in the entire NHL, not just Nashville's system.

jesus man, that's pretty much all he ever posts.

when you post 1-2 "conspiracy theories" or ideas that are way out in left field.....fine, you can be given the benefit of the doubt.

when there are literally hundreds of posts from the same person, with nothing but insane theories and completely uninformed ideas......at some point you have to wonder if that person is, at best, insanely naive

Aho (NYI) looks like he could be a decent offensive defense man, but he's 23, I think the Sens could get a better offer than that elsewhere.

It's ok; they'll be replacing Dutchy with Hughes this spring, right?

The only thing I have consistently said is that this is always about the money. Alfredsson, Zibanejad, Turris, Methot, Karlsson, Stone, Duchene, Dzingle, Ceci and others to be named later is about the Sens not taking on any long term deals or paying bonus money to any players.

If you think my observing this is conspiracy theory on my part, I am guilty.

ah, you......sorry, I forgot that our players aren't worth anything because they're rentals.

what I meant to say was that he'll be traded to NYI for a 6th rd pick and the remaining buyout money on Andrew Ladd.

I guess we'll find out soon.

like I said, the guys on TSN are reporting that the preds are offering up Tolvanen (however you spell it) along with other assets, and he's a better prospect than either of the 2 I mentioned from the Isles.

you're heavily undervaluing them, based solely on the fact that they're rentals.

teams pay out the ass for rentals all the time, and rentals who are nowhere near the players that Duchene and Stone are.

and like I explained to you yesterday, the Duchene trade is likely to be a sign and trade....which increases his value significantly.
