If a Pearson for MarJo trade were on the table I’d do it in a heart beat. I’ve always loved Johansson and it would give us yet another 3C option if they’re deadset on playing Bjugstad on wing.

I just don’t see the Devils being super interested in taking Pearson’s salary back. They’re rebuilding, have plenty of assets, and don’t need to make that kind of cap investment on a reclamation project.

if they're looking to keep taylor, i'm thinking it will be more of a retool than a rebuild. getting back a current player and pick might be what shero has in his mind

It was considered a steal when he got Johannsen. Injuries make it look bad in retrospect.

Sure, I just think there’s a difference between making an objectively stupid trade (Crankshaft) and losing a trade in hindsight because of some unforeseen factor like misdeployment by a coach or injury (Iginla, MarJo).
