If it makes anyone feel better, the Jets haven’t looked this bad in a long time. They to need to snap out of whatever this is that they are in.

I've reached a point where I hope Poile doesn't make a big move at the deadline. It would be different if this team was one piece away from being a serious cup contender, but that doesn't feel like the case right now. They feel more like they're two or maybe even three pieces away. (Like an entire legit second line for example) This team doesn't need to be blown up, it needs to be reconstructed slightly to bring the team more balance across the ice, instead of investing so much of your cap to a defense, who somewhat ironically, have become a liability defensively. That's not the type of change you can usually make at the deadline though, those are the types of changes that usually need to be made in the offseason, when the sellers aren't holding all their players for ransom. The only deadline deal that would make any major difference for this team the way it is now is if you somehow manage to pry both Stone & Duchene from Ottawa and that deal isn't anywhere near the realm of possibility. The Preds are better off making a another minor move right now, if anything at all, and hope they catch fire in the playoffs.

I love Lavy as a coach, but he does have a track record. He can make contenders out of teams fast, but he also tends to ware out his welcome quickly. Not saying that's whats happening here, but you do have to wonder if his message is starting to burn this team out. We've all seen what happens when this team commits defensively, they drive opposing teams crazy. Makes me wonder if all the trouble defensively is really from the defense suddenly turning to poop, Lavy's being reluctant to commit to a defensive style, or the D-men themselves refusing to do so. Either of the last two is sqaurely on the coach. He's got to put these guys in the best position he can to win, and he's gotta get those guys to do what they need to do. That's his job, and if these guys are no longer responding, that's another issue that needs to be addressed.

Look at the last 10 cup winners. They all have multiple "superstars" on offense. Pittsburgh, Chicago, LA, DC, all have legitimate top 6 forwards.
I wouldn't call any forward on the Preds a "Superstar". They have some talented forwards. JOFA line is good, not great. Then they have a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners.

IMO break up one the "top 4 dmen" and get a significant upgrade to the top 6 forwards. DP has to pay Josi soon. There isn't enough money left for offense.

How many 31st overall powerplay units went onto the Stanley Cup Finals?

At this moment neither one. That's nothing against Zucc either, but the Preds aren't close enough to being contenders right now to give up you're two most promising prospects for anybody. I wouldn't but Poile, who knows... Not Fabbro that's for sure. If he's going to be as good as people seem to think, he should be able to come right in and fill that hole whenever Poile tearfully decides to part with one of his precious D-men. Fiala and pretty much any of the other Preds prospects are fair game though.

After watching Toronto run the Knights out of the building the other night, I was hopeful that we'd have a good showing. They started out ok, but I don't understand how you let the overturned goal completely take you off your game. It's not like this hasn't happened before. And it was in the 1st, so they had time. This team hard to figure. It appears that they, for lack of a better term, are a head case.

I'm with other posters here, not sure Poile can trade us out of this, we have issues that the deadline won't cure.
