Carol Schram: Canucks trade Sam Gagner for Ryan Spooner, can move into WC spot vs. Sharks As the Vancouver Canucks try to avenge their loss earlier this week and move into a wild-card spot with a win over the San Jose Sharks, Jim Benning pulled the trigger on a trade on Saturday morning when he dealt Sam Gagner back to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forward Ryan Spooner.

Glad Gagner's whiny entitled ass is off the Canucks roster. The way he whined about being demoted to the Comets, and then enlisted his buddy Tavares to whine as well was embarrassing. Good riddance, Gagner. Watch out for Kassian's errant stick work.

Prediction: Colorado misses the playoffs, but is a top5 team in the west next year with a much improved second line consisting of Kakko or Hughes. Mid 1st round pick is traded for a a reliable dman (please let this be Tanev) even though Sakic said he wasn't looking to do this, missing the playoffs forces the issue a bit.

This all being said, they could heat back up and win 10 straight. the top line is that good. I've always kind of liked Colorado and still do, but they are going to be a force IMO if they can build their 2nd line and d up (which they really have some great young guys coming already).
