Agree on both Simon and Bleuger. Both should be in the lineup. Schultz has been missed. Glad he’s back for the home stretch. |

malkin was right to be upset, but he needs to keep than anger inside and make up for it on the scoreboard. swinging a stick or even fists is not worth it.
simon being out continues the lunacy of this coaching staff. schultz being back almost makes up for it |

Raffl did cheap shot him... and a head shot at that... No way though that can be any kind of reason to blindly swing the twig at a guys dome.
Should've been 5 games minimum. |

10th in the league in save % I think. At least that was before last nights games. Min 20 games played. |

I do agree with Blueger getting playing time over Pearson. He's earned it, but I don't agree that Garrett Wilson does. I have no idea what they see in this guy besides the fact that he hits people. This is an offensive league now, and he brings nothing offensively, at least Pearson scores some goals every once and a while.
However, I do believe that Pearson is on track to get traded based on his salary so maybe that might be happening soon, which I wouldn't mind. I'd like to clear some cap space to bring in a top 6 winger. Maybe Eric Staal, Dzingel, or Zuccarello. We'll see what happens. |

Raffl deserved two minutes for the punch
Malkin got lucky he only got one game
To then whine about it and say that Raffl dove is embarassing, just shut up and be glad you only got one game |

Raffl did dive, no argument. My issue is that Malkin doesn't seem to get that the intent is more important than the result.
Yes, you didn't bash his face in with your stick, but you very well may have.
And this is not about Malkin, but the DoPS weighing supplementary discipline based on result more than intent is ridiculius. |

Raffl diving like he got shot is the only embarrassing thing about any of this. |

Yes, a grown man being upset that he has to miss a day of work for blindly swinging a bludgeon at another man's head is truly the epitome of class. |

no question intent is greater than deed (as religion has always taught us), but malkin's thinking ain't gonna change no time soon. on one hand, given his neck issues, i can understand he's mad, but he can't do that. he could have swung at his feet and no one would care, but a man needs to be in charge of his stick.
as for the dops, they are what they are. a match penalty and suspension seems solid. if he does it again soon, he'll been repeat. |

Raffl should have gotten 2 for roughing and 2 for embellishing. The NHL is allowing too many free shots with punches and cross checks |

I don't disagree with anything. As I said, if he turned around and punch Raffl out, I'd say Raffl had it coming, and Raffl should have been penalized. I just don't get why Malkin thinks what he did isn't a big deal. |

You keep saying this, but how do you know? Regardless, recklessly flailing your stick out, no matter where it's directed, is never cool.
And I said class because classy and embarassing are opposite attributes. |

@deflated: It’s tough to tell a player to keep it all inside, but I actually agree with Grinder and Mr J on this one. Malkin should have just fought him. Jumped him even if Raffl refused to drop the gloves. This is one of the cases where the instigator penalty really hurts in a league where the refs are told to let roughing go. |

Why would Malkin think that intent matters? As you say, the league he plays for stipulates intent never matters. The change will happen in the players minds when the change happens in the owners minds.
I honestly believe the fans take this stuff way more seriously than the players themselves. I guarantee if you ask the majority of the players if they favor heavier suspensions for ugly incidents or continue status quo, they'd easily take status quo. |

I don’t know about Wilson. He’s been as effective as you can possibly be without producing. I’d rather play a guy that produces than one that doesn’t any day, but the fact that Wilson’s played as effectively as he has makes me not too upset that he’s in the lineup. But again, like Blueger, his ice time shouldn’t be coming at the expense of Simon. Simon is our 4th most productive wing at 5v5 and is top 3 on the team in primary assists. The forwards that should be under scrutiny for that last roster spot are Cullen, Wilson, ZAR, and Pearson. |
