Do any of the outside of the box players or I should say, non UFAs, get moved?
What about Fast? Shatty? Namestnikov? Even Skjei or Kreider...? |
|
|
|
Why buyout Strome? He’s not blocking anyone in Hartford, especially when our callups are Connor Brickley and Vinnie Letteri. After we trade Zucc/Hayes/possibly Fast/Nam we’re going to need guys to fill out the roster. |

Because if you want to sign a few high-priced players and can clear $2.7 million, why wouldn't he be a possible buyout? |

i think Nam is the most likely. |

Fast: Maybe
Shattenkirk: No chance
Vlad: Maybe
Skjei: Probably not
Kreider: Maybe, but more likely that Vlad or Fast. |

I think getting rid of Zucc/Hayes/McQuaid/Nam/Fast would give us plenty of cap space. Any possible guys next year(Kravtsov/Andersson/Hajek/Lindgren) would be on ELC. |

I mean Hayes, Zucc and Mcquaid all expire at the end of the year. So they wouldn't count on the cap moving forward unless re-signed... |

My dark horse to get traded is Brendan Smith. It will be tough, no doubt, but that is my surprise trade guess for this year... |

the buyout is peanuts
Even though I actually like Strome it actually makes a lot of sense to do it, his cap hit is too high if we dont buy him out |

Brendan Smith goes from a 15 team NTC to a 10 team NTC on July 1st
a buyout for him is more likely, because cap hit is really cheap the first year on it and expensive the 2nd year after the buyout, but that coincides with Girardi's cap hit getting a lot cheaper
I cant see Rangers trading him without eating money, so they are better off buying him out too
I think they will buyout Strome and Smith this summer
I think minimum they go into this summer with about 30 million in cap space.

I get it, but you know I've been on team don't buy out anyone. Strome has one season left. Unless you have a clear plan on what to do with the cap savings, just eat it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can only have 2 dead money cap hits correct? So at that point, we couldn't buy out anyone else for 2 seasons. |

I dont think that's correct
you can only have two trades on the books where you retain money at one time, but I dont think there's a limit on buyouts |

it sucks, even though it's been pretty mild, it's winter, as I get older I hate it more and more each year |

I can't find anything that limits regular buyouts. The 2 was the CBOs. I still maintain I'm on team no buy out. Plus, always teams like the Yotes that need to reach the floor. |

Magnus Hellberg has extended his contract w/ SKA for another three years. Have to think that's semi-confirmation that Igor Shestyorkin will not be sticking around beyond this season. |

Only possible way I see Kreider moved is if it was a ridiculous over payment. I'm 99.9 percent sure he isn't going anywhere |

it's just weird that last year there was so much talk of McDonagh only has one year left on his deal and the Rangers should move him now and so much less with Kreider |

Especially since Krieds is older than we remember he is. I think Kreids is a good test case as to how close the org thinks we are to competing again. If we are 2-3 seasons away at a minimum, no way you can't trade him IMO. |
