Nice write up Jammer!

I am loving this. So glad to see Vladi back as a force. One of the other things that's changed with him is how he is attacking. He's not slowing down in his entries. For the past year or two, that entry in OT he would have slown the play down and that's why his move stopped working. With his shot and speed Josi gets caught respecting the shot or a deke. If Tarasenko slows down jis lane will get covered and he'll be bodied up.

His shot is back and the speed he once played with, the hunger, the attack, this is the player I grew to love watching.
ROR is leading the best way--by doing. Set the example and you'll everyone with you.

For anyone saying Schenn has had a down year, remember that he was Schwartz' center most season. that definitely hurt him

Shoot him Schwartz and Tarasenko were all having a terrible year. They weren't always bad either but no results and too slow.

This team though: something huge changed. Maybe part of it was Yeo.

Because they were worried about a trap game and they didn't let up until the game was out of hand and even then not too much.

There's something about this team.

Tarasenko i think was still rehabbing the shoulder. playing at not full capacity and with new line mates then a slumping schwartz with schenn and tarasenko?? bad line

hell of a game tonight. knew the devils would get some more goals in that game. blues kind of stopped after 2 periods. this time it was for a different reason though ha ha bortz??? what were you thinking. a bad penalty then a goal through you that was deflected off you? now i know why he is a scratch when we are healthy on defense

Vladi and Jay Bo both looked to be lingering with issues but the way they have played recently isn't just health its passion

This team needs to have another great road trip

I agree.

Some of this play Vladi has demonstrated the past two seasons: enter the zone on his back hand, a few feet after the line slow down, look for passing options or cut cut across the slot but unable to have first two stride speed to not have his shooting lane blocked. Even if his shoulder is good, it doesn't matter bc the shot is blocked and/or the goalie can get set.

Those goals against the Preds: playing with pace, making it difficult to block his shot and when it is blocked it is only partial without the full lane blocked resulting in a goal.

That's a huge difference.
Last year the SST line was at it's best when Schwartz was carrying the puck with speed around the net. It left Schenn open in the low slot and if he was covered Tarasenko could slide down or the off side dman sometimes Schwartz would go around the net and not wrap around but attack the net. This was with pace and speed. This could result in Schenn retrieving the puck behind the net and two slot openings in Schwartz and Tarasenko versus when Tarasenko carried the puck in the zone and trapped the play.

This pace Tarasenko is playing at is a revelation. It is causing havov for the opposition D. Now they can't get set as easy because you have to respect the shot , his one on one ability and his ability to make a pass.

With his shoulder good it's quite impressive.

How does Army trade anyone at this point? Could he trade Fabbri, Kostin, and maybe Jaybo for an under performing d-man from Anaheim?

Hampus Lindholm? Rakell?

There’d have to be a bunch of numbers work in that type of deal but it could open up cap space for Anaheim if they decided to go fire sale while improving the Blues for the playoffs and for next year too...

i would like the Blues to go out and get a guy that we can put in the lineup if we need a legit fighter. I dont wanna make a trade and screw what chemistry we have up. We are playing good as a group and i would hate to mess that up.

What is the purpose of a "legit fighter" today?

I mean, sure it would be nice. but they have to do more than just that or they aren't going to play. Fighting is way down the list of skills needed today.

Someone like reeves would be nice to throw out every now and then is all I’m saying

Not saying they are important as in years past but I think we are fine with what we have just be nice to have someone on the team that could go out and bust some heads every now and then we they run our players.

Reaves has 16 points (8G, 8A). The only guy with less points than Reaves on our fourth line is Maroon (5G, 11A).

Reaves has one less fight on the year than Maroon.

Maroon, Eddy, and Bortuzzo are a fine deterrent in today’s NHL.

The recent winning streak of the St. Louis Blues is evidence of their tenacity and skill on the My Singing Monsters ice. They've won every game this week thanks to their potent offense, strong defense, and outstanding goaltending.
