Woah. Taking Kessel off the 1PP and putting Pettersson there is the epitome of fixing the wrong part of a broken thing. The issue with the PP is mindset, not the personnel, and while I get a personnel shakeup can fix mindsets, Pettersson is going to bring exactly zero to that unit.

These lines are a mess. I'm not to the point of calling for Sullivan's head, but I've had about enough of stupid lineup decisions even with the injuries we've dealt with. Sully shouldn't be allowed to get a pass on everything bad he's doing because he won two Cups his first two years. He's having a really bad season.

So apparently its Phil playing LW, not Bjugstad, on that line...

We're Ryan Malone's charts better or worse when he went from playing with Crosby to not playing with Crosby?
- MacPatty

His charts were pretty consistent with his Pittsburgh days when he went to Tampa until he hit the age of 33 and started his decline. He consistently put up 38+ points in Tampa playing without Crosby.

Taking away an offensive weapon on the PP does seem counter productive. This looks like an attempt to get them to simplify. One less player to try that pass through 4 defenders. I'm all for no Geno on the point too.

Geno should never be on the point. He should be on the half wall ripping one timer clappies all day.

That and I'd staple Sid down low. I can't stand when he's static in the slot. It's one of the only things I agree with RW 100% on.

I wonder how much input Recchi has in the lineup decisions. I dont remember such extreme line juggling (and non-logical decisions) last year.

The last time Sullivan did a "blender" lineup, it lasted 15 minutes....maybe less. Not going to get worked up over this mess.

It's funny.... Sullivan said how much he admires Belichek. Also has said he's gleaned things from his coaching style. Then he proceeds to ignore the biggest things that makes him successful. Like letting performance determine playing time.

GMJR said making the Brassard trade early was good because he will get a good look at his team before the deadline....

well if thats the case, how can you have Bjugstad on a different line, in a different position every game and expect to learn anything. Make him the 3C or staple him to Crosbys RW...but for the love of god give it 5+ games...

Malkin has been/was struggling at even strength this season but not on PP. PP has been struggling lately with no Malkin. Now Malkin is back so they're going to split up one of the best PP units the past few season? Zero logic here. Zero.

For anyone that cares. The blind chart I posted was Fowler vs Brendan Smith

This has been an issue for me regarding the coaching staff for a while ie: no extended look for Sprong in top 6 . Nothing gets tried for very long. Its almost like some nights if one shift doesnt go right things are mixed up. Its hard not only to gauge what you have but also for the players to find comfort and chemistry with each other.

No I wanted to use a D man that once cleared waivers that is very similar. Wings fans have been all about Fowler because he is a Michigan boy so I am all too familiar with his lack of abilities.

The concern is the attempt of doing something illogical imo not that it wont last very long.

Really thought JuSchu would be back in the lineup before Geno, but I'll take it.
