Stastny cost us Foley ( a C+ - B prospect ) and a First. Stone or Duchene are better than Stastny, yes but not by a country mile so I find it very humorous how everyone assumes the cost to acquire either one of these has to significantly more.
First round picks in deadline deals have the most currency, do not under estimate just how much those are worth.
I've said before Ottawa needs a young goalie, and Comrie has taken the next step this year in the AHL and could greatly benefit sharing time and learning from Anderson next year in Ottawa. Here we have Broisent as an RFA so we can keep him and we have Berdin ready to be Moose starter.
with all this said, Jets first rounder, Comrie and, one of ( Stanley, Petan, Lemieux, Appleton ) is fair and to be honest I'll be shocked if they get a lot more somewhere else.
only way Vessalainen is included is if the first rounder is taken out. |

The Jets are an amazing team. I wouldn't look too much into this loss. They're still going to do some serious damage from here-on and into the playoffs. |

Roger is one of the special ones.
Habs looked good for sure. Its nice that they can surprise like that. I thought they'd get ripped. I was also surprised Helleybuyck didn't get a star in the game last night. Some pretty sick saves. |

Hab's looked good last night. The only line for the Jet's that was decent was the 4th line. First line against first line last night. Wheeler and Sheif should be embarrassed. They got schooled IMHO |

Glad you are not the G.M. Firstly, we don't need a winger. But for Stone you are suggesting our 1st round pick plus Comrie and Stanley(1sr rd pick) Petan (2nd round pick) Lemieux (first round pick) Appleton etc. So what you are suggesting is A rental in Stone for a first plus a goalie plus another first? Ain't going to happen. Huge overpayment. To be fair I think Chevy is going after Hayes. 2nd and a b prospect only IMHO |

RE-POST FROM THE END OF THE LAST DISCUSSION....
Here is a trade idea that wouldn't cost much and would do wonders for the team and maybe even help Laine.....
Get Matt Hendricks back from Minnesota.
( We don't have to dress him, just have him at practices and in the room)

couple things, I said one of the choices I gave not all. Who cares where people were drafted, its where are they project now? Stanley projects as a 5-6-7 D, Petan's value has never been lower, Lemieux ( a 2nd round pick by the way!!!) and Appleton are what they are, 4th line guys we can easily replace. It's all good to disagree though as I'm pretty sure Rangers will get a first rounder for Hayes.
one more thing, don't worry about wing or center, Stone is better than Duchene and makes the players around him better more so than Duchene. so always take the better player!

I don't know why the Sens are so dead set on re-signing Duchene before the deadline. Trade the guy to a team that has a legitimate chance at playing for Stanley, with little to no chance of re-signing him (like the Jets). Get a decent package for him (1st and a B prospect) and then try to re-sign him in the offseason. Who knows, he may be fresh off a Cup win and be willing to go back to a rebuilding team. |

Stone is probably worth twice as much as Stastny.
Stastny is a decent 2C, but Stone is a top 5 winger today.
Stone trade!

None of these are real assets for us, but Ottawa won’t know that |

If Laine ever gets it together and Ehlers returns, Stone is a 3rd line right winger for us. We need a Center ! |

Stone is the superior player. I love Wheeler, and he’s still elite in his own right, but Stone has him beat in all 3 big categories: Offence, defence, and play driving |

The 1st line is having a tough time in our own end. Noticed it at the Shark's game on Tuesday, but they were really bad last night.
Think Pete is right... the top line is tired. Time to mix them up with other linemates and take Scheif and Wheeler off the PK.
For as much as I like Connor, the kid doesn't hit. Ehlers does. Hope Nik gets back in the lineup soon. |

The Jets will be fine. It's a long 82 game season and every team goes through their ups and downs. The Preds and Jets are clearly the class of the Central Division and they will remain that through out the rest of the season. Laine is the one I would be worried about. He seems disinterested at times as if there is something going on with him. |

Something has been off with the Jets all year. Look at Hellebuyck's last 10 games, he's given up 4-3-3-1-4-3-3-3-3-5 goals, that's Pavelec stats right there. |
